L&L Residence 1 Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to L&L Residence 1 on Rue Charles Quint, you know what struck me first? It’s not trying to be something it isn’t. This three-star place sits quietly in one of Brussels‘ most charming neighborhoods, and honestly, the location alone makes it worth considering. The building has that classic European feel without being overly fancy — which I actually appreciated after staying at some pretentious places that charge twice as much for half the character.
The Neighborhood Advantage
Here’s the thing about this spot — couples absolutely love it here, and I can see why. You’re literally a few minutes’ walk from the Grand Place, but you’re tucked away from the tourist chaos on a street that feels authentically Brussels. I mean, there’s a local bakery right around the corner where actual Belgians grab their morning pastries, not just tour groups. The area comes alive in the evenings too, with plenty of cozy bars and bistros that locals frequent. You’ll find yourself wandering these cobblestone streets just because they’re so pleasant, which is something you can’t say about every hotel location in the city center.
The Room Experience
My room was clean and functional — nothing groundbreaking, but everything worked properly, which is more than I can say for some places I’ve stayed. The space felt bigger than I expected, probably because they didn’t cram unnecessary furniture everywhere. The bed was comfortable enough, and I actually slept well despite being in the city center. What I really appreciated was the attention to small details — good lighting for reading, enough outlets for charging devices, and a decent shower with proper water pressure. Sometimes it’s these basics that matter most when you’re exploring a city all day.
Getting Around
Transportation from here is surprisingly easy — there’s a metro station within walking distance, and honestly, most of Brussels’ main attractions are close enough to reach on foot anyway. I found myself walking to the Manneken Pis, the Royal Museums, and even up to the Sablon district without breaking a sweat. The staff gave me some solid recommendations for getting around, including a few shortcuts through the city that I wouldn’t have discovered on my own. Parking can be tricky in this part of Brussels if you’re driving, but that’s pretty standard for any European city center.
Why Guests Love It
Look, L&L Residence 1 isn’t going to wow you with fancy amenities or over-the-top service, but it delivers exactly what most travelers actually need — a comfortable base in an excellent location at a reasonable price. The fact that recent guests rated the location so highly tells you everything you need to know. You’re paying for the privilege of staying in one of Brussels’ best neighborhoods without the premium price tag that usually comes with it. For couples especially, this place hits that sweet spot where you can step out your door and immediately feel like you’re experiencing the real Brussels, not just the tourist version of it.

The whole apartment is just a gem! Great location, you’ll find everything you like there.
Close to downtown, lots of bars around.
The host was really nice and easy to communicate with!
10/10Francisco from Belgium – 10 January 2024 (5/10)
The apartment was well cleaned and the towels smelled great. The host was responsive when we had an issue with wifi and all in all the apartment was comfortable.
What could be improved: There was a problem with the shower head that made taking a bath there a terrible experience, and the toilet has a permanent hissing sound.
Also, pictures show a washing machine which wasn't there.
