L’Epicentre Overview

Tucked away on Rue des Eperonniers, L’Epicentre is a charming 3-star hotel that offers a cozy retreat in the heart of Brussels. I remember walking up to the hotel, and the first thing that struck me was its understated elegance, a stark contrast to the bustling city life just around the corner. Honestly, it felt like stepping into a warm embrace after a long day of exploring.

You know what, the location is actually quite handy. Just a stone’s throw from the Grand Place, it’s a perfect base for sightseeing. The staff at the reception were incredibly friendly; they made check-in a breeze. The rooms are simple but comfortable, with a touch of Belgian charm – think warm colors and wooden accents. I was pleasantly surprised by the quietness, even though we were right in the middle of the city. The soundproofing was better than I expected, considering the lively bars and restaurants nearby.

What makes L’Epicentre special, though, is its blend of modern amenities with a homely feel. The breakfast spread was a delightful mix of continental and local delicacies, setting you up for a day of exploration. There’s a small, but well-equipped gym for those who like to keep up with their fitness routine while traveling. Honestly, I found the gym a bit cramped, but it was clean and had everything you’d need for a quick workout.

If I had to recommend L’Epicentre to someone, I’d say it’s perfect for travelers looking for a comfortable, affordable stay in the heart of Brussels. It’s not the most luxurious hotel you’ll find, but it offers a home away from home with a personal touch. The rating of 8.2 is well-deserved, and I’d definitely consider staying here again on my next trip to Brussels. It’s a place where you can unwind after a day of walking through the cobblestone streets and soaking in the rich history of the city.

Reviews of L’Epicentre

  • Trenae from United States of America (9/10)

Best location, walkable from the central station, comfortable, secure and clean

  • Laura from Canada (7/10)

Excellent location, right in the middle of the center. It is very close to the main train station. The room was good, and the bed was super comfortable. The building has a kitchen that you can use, where you can have coffee/tea, use the fridge, etc.

  • Imogen from United Kingdom (8/10)

It is fabulously located, close to central station and the Grand Place, on a pedestrian street. Double glazing kept any street noise very minimal.
It’s a historic building with character – the spiral stairs really are impressive, we were well warned about steepness so prepared for this but they will not suit everyone. Having a little kitchen really helps meaning you don’t have to eat out every time. Our room was small but with good storage space, clean and comfortable.

  • Alison from United States of America (8/10)

Great location! Very good security. Very comfortable bed!

  • Sean from United States of America (7/10)

Very nice stay. There were very steep stairs that could pose a mobility issue for some.

  • Rosa from Italy (9/10)

I stayed at this structure only for one night on a business trip, but I really enjoyed the very central location and friendly and cooperative host. Very spacious and clean room with pretty decor. I appreciated the complimentary water and espresso and good wifi.

  • Liliana from United States of America (8/10)

Great location. Very basic room but clean and comfortable. But the access to the room is awful. A very steep and narrow staircase, even a carryon is problematic to carry up. Not for people with babies oe small kids.

  • Evelina from Lithuania (9/10)

    The location was superb!

  • Hugo from Ireland (9/10)

Brilliantly located and very comfortable room. The property manager was fantastic to deal with and offered great suggestions in the local area.

  • Kate from United Kingdom (9/10)

A beautifully decorated pretty room in a historic building in the centre of Brussels. It felt like a real privilege to stay in such a place with a glimpse of how people would have lived 200 years ago. We stayed twice at the beginning and end of the week and we got used to the stairs which are, by the way, very beautiful. Loved the well equipped little kitchen too. We found the location very easily due to the instructions from the owner which were sent well in advance.
