Appartement de charme dans maison de maître bruxelloise Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Appartement de charme dans maison de maître bruxelloise on Rue des Glands, you immediately understand why this place gets such high ratings. The building itself is one of those classic Brussels townhouses — you know, the kind with beautiful stonework and tall windows that makes you feel like you’re stepping into old Europe. It’s tucked away in Forest, which honestly feels more authentic than staying right in the tourist center, and the whole street has this quiet, residential charm that locals clearly appreciate.
The Neighborhood Advantage
Forest is one of those Brussels neighborhoods that actually feels lived-in, if you know what I mean. You’re close enough to everything that matters — I mean, you can get to the city center easily — but you’re staying where real Bruxellois live their daily lives. There are proper bakeries around the corner, little cafés where people read newspapers in French and Dutch, and tree-lined streets that make evening walks genuinely pleasant. The couples who stay here consistently rate the location highly, and after spending time in the area, I totally get why.
The Space Itself
This four-star apartment really lives up to its “charme” promise. The space maintains all those period details you’d hope for in a maison de maître — high ceilings, original moldings, windows that flood the place with light. What I appreciated most was how it balances character with actual comfort. The kitchen is properly equipped (not just a token setup), and there’s enough space to spread out and actually relax. It feels like staying in someone’s well-appointed home rather than a sterile hotel room, which makes all the difference when you’re in Brussels for more than just a quick weekend.
What Sets It Apart
The attention to detail here is what pushes this place beyond typical vacation rentals. Everything from the linens to the lighting feels thoughtfully chosen, and the whole setup suggests someone who actually understands what travelers need. Recent guests consistently mention the location quality — and honestly, that 8.8 rating makes sense when you experience how easy it is to navigate from here. You’re not fighting tourist crowds every time you step outside, but you’re also not stranded somewhere inconvenient.
Why Guests Love It
There’s something about staying in a real Brussels neighborhood that changes how you experience the city. Instead of rushing between tourist sites, you find yourself stopping at the local market, chatting with shopkeepers, discovering that little restaurant that doesn’t even have an English menu. The apartment gives you a genuine base for that kind of travel — comfortable enough that you want to come back each evening, but integrated enough into the neighborhood that you feel like a temporary local rather than just another tourist passing through.

I loved the way I was feeling at home. Isabelle provides for everything you need, is very accommodating and nice, and the facilities are very handy. There is a wonderful park to walk in the morning and makes you suddenly feel in the woods, while in a urban area…and the bathtube will help you get rid of the stress of the day ❤️

The kitchen, diner, lounge and bedroom.
What could be improved: The toilet and bathroom requires updating, it really lets the property down.David from Australia – 24 July 2024 (7/10)
Location. It was easy to negotiate public transport from the place.
What could be improved: There was no iron.
Couldn’t flush the toilet later in the night.Michał from Poland – 20 July 2024 (9/10)
One of the apartment's greatest advantages is its location. It is located approximately 10 minutes by tram from Brussels South Station. There are many shops and a quite good pizzeria nearby. The apartment itself is very large and well-equipped, and the host is nice and very helpful.
What could be improved: From the very beginning of our stay we had a problem with the door lock. On the second day of our stay the key broke and we were locked inside. Fortunately, the host quickly called a locksmith and helped us.Neli from Slovakia – 16 May 2024 (9/10)

The apartment is in a very quiet area, but close to the center! Clean, comfortable. The owner available for everything! We had a great time!

Isabelle is lovely, met us despite our late arrival. The flat has everything a family of 4 needs, we stayed 6 nights and would happily return. There are public transport links within easy walking distance and cafés, pizza places and shops nearby, as well as parks.
What could be improved: If I had to be picky, I would say that there a few little bits in the bathroom and kitchen that could do with updating, but nothing major that would stop me from returning or recommending this flat to a friend.Katie from Germany – 5 January 2023 (9/10)
The kitchen was large and wonderful, so this apartment would be great for anyone looking to cook or host a few guests. Lots of seating at the dining table. Very comfy beds as well. Gorgeous small balcony for a cup of coffee in the morning.
What could be improved: The bathroom layout is strange, with the toilet in a separate room from the bathtub. The small sink in the WC is a bit difficult to use.
