Thon Hotel Residence Parnasse Aparthotel Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Thon Hotel Residence Parnasse Aparthotel, you immediately get that “home away from home” feeling — but honestly, it’s probably nicer than your actual home. This four-star aparthotel sits quietly on Rue d’Idalie in Brussels‘ trendy Ixelles district, and I mean quietly — the street has this peaceful residential vibe that makes you forget you’re in a major European capital. The lobby has that Scandinavian minimalist thing going on (Thon is Norwegian, after all), with clean lines and warm wood touches that actually work. The attention to detail in the design creates an inviting atmosphere that sets the tone for your entire stay.

The Neighborhood

Ixelles is where Brussels gets interesting, you know? You’re walking distance from the European Quarter if you’re here on business, but also close to all the good stuff locals actually care about. The Chatelain market on Wednesdays is just a few blocks away — I always grab some cheese there. Plus, you’ve got the Bois de la Cambre nearby for morning runs, and honestly, couples seem to love this area (they rate the location 8.9, which makes sense when you see how romantic those tree-lined streets get at sunset). The neighborhood truly captures the essence of Brussels’ cultural diversity and charm.

Living Space

The apartment-style setup here is what really sets this place apart from regular hotels. Each unit comes with a proper kitchenette — not just a mini-fridge and microwave, but actual cooking space with everything you need. The room layouts feel spacious, with separate sleeping and living areas that make longer stays actually comfortable. I’ve stayed in plenty of aparthotels where the “kitchen” is basically decorative, but here you could legitimately cook a proper meal if you wanted to. The thoughtful design maximizes functionality without sacrificing comfort or style.

Practical Perks

What I really appreciate is the on-site parking — finding a spot in Brussels can be a nightmare, so having your own guaranteed space is worth its weight in Belgian chocolate. The staff seems to know their repeat guests by name (and there are apparently more regulars here than at most places), which creates this nice community feel. The building itself is well-maintained, with reliable elevators and good soundproofing between units. These practical amenities combine to make daily life genuinely convenient.

Why Guests Love It

Recent guests rated the location 9.1, and after spending time here, I get it completely. You’re positioned perfectly between the business district and the cultural heart of Brussels, with excellent public transport connections when you need them. The aparthotel concept works especially well for couples or business travelers who want independence but with hotel services when needed. It’s that sweet spot where you get space to breathe and live normally, but someone else handles the cleaning and maintenance. The combination of autonomy and support makes this property uniquely appealing to discerning travelers.

Reviews of Thon Hotel Residence Parnasse Aparthotel

  • Charmian from United Kingdom – 31 May 2025 (9/10)

We were upgraded to a 2 bedroom apartment that was lovely. Very quiet building and the road outside was quiet. The kitchen had an oven which we needed as my grandson only eats pizzas. Very clean and roomy. Bus stops very close by to reach the places we wanted to go to. It wasn't that far to walk to get the metro. Definitely stay there again. Remember to take your own coffee, tea and sugar. They provided a tea towel, washing up liquid and cloths. Even a dishwasher.

What could be improved: Bigger mugs and bowls in the kitchen. Oven gloves were not provided.

We faced a minor issue with one of the toilets which was promptly amended.

What could be improved: Basic ingredients like salt, some cooking oil can be provided for short stay.

  • Cedric from France – 12 May 2025 (9/10)

The staff is absolutely amazing. Ulviyya has been nothing but exceptional throughout the trip, finding solutions, giving tips and going above and beyond what I would expect. As I told her, we looked at a lot of hotels and this one wasn't necessarily the cheapest but there is no better bang for your buck out there thanks to the staff. I highly recommend.

  • Lucia from Poland – 11 May 2025 (9/10)

    We loved the upgrade!

  • Jenny from Spain – 4 May 2025 (9/10)

Spotlessly clean. Very nice staff. Comfortable and quiet. On a direct bus route from the airport (12).

What could be improved: Near the European parliament so a little bit far from the city centre. But once you suss out the underground and bus, it's fine .

  • Traian from Sweden – 23 April 2025 (9/10)

The apartment was nice and large enough for a kid to run around and feel at home.

  • Mtomov from Bulgaria – 29 March 2025 (9/10)

I was staying for three nights. There was full comfort in the appartment, it was clean and with a nice view to the street. Super good location to explore Brussels. Very friendly staff, I also used the pool.

  • Sarah from Ireland – 24 March 2025 (9/10)

Great apart hotel with everything you need!

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Nathan from United Kingdom – 13 March 2025 (9/10)

Spacious well equipped apartment with good facilities. Very handy for the Euro sector.

What could be improved: Some confusion over whether you have extra for the pool when the fitness centre itself is free.
