Toison d’Or Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Toison d’Or on Rue Capitaine Crespel, you immediately get the sense that this isn’t your typical Brussels hotel. The building has this understated elegance that feels distinctly Belgian — not flashy, but you know there’s something special waiting inside. When a four-star property consistently pulls in 9.2 ratings, there’s usually a good reason for it. The attention to detail starts from the moment you arrive, setting the tone for what promises to be a memorable stay in one of Brussels’ most charming neighborhoods.

Location & Neighborhood

The location in Brussels is pretty much perfect if you want to experience the city like locals do. You’re in Ixelles, which is where young professionals and creative types actually live and hang out. It’s not touristy at all, but you can easily walk to the major sights when you want to. The area has this vibrant energy with great cafés and bistros scattered around, and you’ll find yourself discovering places that aren’t in any guidebook. There’s a reason couples rate this spot so highly — it feels intimate and authentic in a way that the hotel districts near Grand Place just don’t. The neighborhood truly captures the essence of contemporary Brussels culture.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was thoughtfully designed without being overly fussy. You know what I appreciated most? The attention to practical details — good lighting for reading, plenty of outlets where you actually need them, and a bathroom that doesn’t make you feel cramped. The beds are genuinely comfortable (not just hotel-marketing comfortable), and the soundproofing is solid, which matters when you’re on a street that has actual life happening on it. Every element feels purposeful and well-considered for the modern traveler.

Service & Atmosphere

The staff here strikes that perfect balance between being helpful and not hovering. They clearly know the neighborhood well — I got some excellent restaurant recommendations that I never would have found on my own. There’s this relaxed, almost residential feel to the whole place that makes it easy to settle in. It doesn’t feel like you’re staying in a corporate hotel, but rather like you’re a guest in a very well-run, sophisticated home. The atmosphere encourages you to truly relax and enjoy your time in Brussels.

Why Guests Love It

What really sets Toison d’Or apart is how it manages to feel both polished and genuine. You’re staying somewhere that locals would actually choose for visiting friends, in a neighborhood where real Brussels life happens. The combination of that excellent location and those consistently high ratings tells the whole story — this is a place that delivers on the promise of experiencing Brussels authentically, without sacrificing comfort or quality. For couples especially, there’s something about the intimate scale and neighborhood vibe that works perfectly for a romantic getaway. The hotel represents the best of what Brussels hospitality can offer.

The concierge service in Brussels can arrange exclusive chocolate factory tours, secure reservations at Michelin-starred restaurants, and organize personalized visits to the European Parliament and UNESCO World Heritage Grand Place.

Superbe appartement très spacieux et moderne, bien situé proche de la station de métro et avec un parking juste en face. Jolies prestations. On reviendra 😉😉

What could be improved: Tout a été apprécié cependant il faut prévenir qu'il y a beaucoup de marches pour accéder aux differents paliers de l'appart '. Il manque un micro ondes et une cafetière… bref quelques petits details mais un superbe appartement !
