It’s tucked into Koekelberg — honestly, a neighborhood most visitors to Brussels completely overlook, which is actually part of its charm. The building has that understated Belgian elegance, nothing flashy, but you can tell someone put thought into the details. I mean, the name itself hints at something a bit different — “Nour” means light in Arabic, and there’s definitely a warm, welcoming glow about the place that sets it apart from the chain hotels downtown.

The Neighborhood Advantage

Here’s what I love about staying in Koekelberg — you’re close enough to the action but far enough away to actually breathe. The Basilica of the Sacred Heart is practically next door (you can’t miss it, honestly), and from there you get some of the best views over Brussels that most tourists never see. What really surprised me was how well-connected this area is — the metro gets you to Grand Place in about 15 minutes, but when you come back in the evening, you’re in this quiet, residential bubble where locals are walking their dogs and cafés close at reasonable hours. Couples seem to particularly get this vibe, which makes sense given how peaceful it feels compared to the city center chaos.

The Studio Experience

The room setup is pretty clever — it’s a proper studio arrangement, so you’ve got everything you need without feeling cramped. The kitchenette is actually functional (not just for show), which comes in handy when you want to grab groceries from the local market and have breakfast without rushing downstairs. The design feels modern but warm, with plenty of natural light streaming in — that “nour” concept really comes through. Storage is well thought out too, because let’s be honest, most hotel rooms leave you living out of a suitcase, but here you can actually unpack and settle in.

Getting Around and Local Life

What struck me most was how this location gives you a different perspective on Brussels. Instead of being surrounded by other tourists, you’re seeing how the city actually works. There’s a great bakery two blocks down that locals line up at every morning, and the restaurant scene in the area is refreshingly unpretentious — places where you can get excellent Belgian food without the tourist markup. The three-star rating feels about right; you’re not getting concierge service or fancy amenities, but everything works well and the value is solid for what you get.

Why Guests Love It

The high location ratings make perfect sense once you spend a few days here. You get the best of both worlds — easy access to Brussels’ main attractions when you want them, but a genuine neighborhood feel when you’re just hanging around. It’s particularly great if you’re the type of traveler who likes to explore beyond the obvious tourist spots, or if you’re staying for more than just a quick weekend and want to feel like you’re actually experiencing the city rather than just visiting it.   Muy lindo el departamento, cumplió con las expectativas.
  
  What could be improved: No cuenta con ascensor, el departamento está ubicado en un 2do piso. Tema a tener en cuenta para quien lleva valijas.
  No encontramos si tenía aire acondicionado.

  Logement très propre et clair. Bien équipé et à proximité des transports en commun. Pas mal de places de parking dans le quartier. Consignes d'arrivée et de départ claires et propriétaire très avenante et à l'écoute.
  
  What could be improved: Le studio se situe au second étage sans ascenseur donc pas évident si motricité réduite ou bagage lourd. Il faudrait rajouter un peu de vaisselle car un peu juste pour 4 personnes . L'appartement est un peu bruyant car situé à proximité d'un grand carrefour et du parc Élisabeth où des personnes vivent la nuit. De plus il s'agit d'un vieil immeuble mal insonorisé et en fonction des voisins surtout au-dessus , cela peut s'avérer pénible.

  After reading the reviews from previous visitors, we had low expectations for the apartment. However, we were pleasantly surprised – it was renovated, clean, well-heated, and equipped with everything needed for a short stay. Complimentary tea, coffee, and toilet paper were provided for the entire duration of our visit. We experienced no issues with hot water, and the Wi-Fi was reliable. The only downside was the stairs leading to the apartment, which could be challenging for tourists with large suitcases or for elderly guests. The apartment is located very conveniently, with metro, tram, and bus stops nearby. In just 15 minutes, you can reach the Atomium, Midi train station, and the city center. There is also a park close by, and the famous Basilica of the Sacred Heart is within easy reach.
  
  What could be improved: We had difficulty closing the bathroom door.

  The staff was very friendly and helpful, and responsive to texts. We needed to stay another night in the room because of a strike in Brussels and the price was the same without any problems! Would totally recommend!:)

  The place was really clean, there was coffee and tea as a compliment.
  
  What could be improved: There were no knives, no wine opener, no wine glasses, no bathroom utensils as shampoo, just liquid soap. Furniture is really a collection of the cheapest possible items, no style in furnishing, bad tails were old and the space between them – dirty. Kitchen is very ugly with, furnished poorly and not convenient. Heating was not working properly and radiators are full of dust and spider nets.

  The location its not too bad for who does not mind a long walk to city center or maybe to get the metro beside the studio, it is quite big place.
  
  What could be improved: The shower place it is very small, and the toilet it is very bad maintained, the place it is old and they just made up some renovating to cover the issues of the building. Also the floor was really dirty, dusty, the kitchen was dusty too, looks like the place was closed for a long while and they didn't cleaned the surface…

  The convenient in accessing public transport and the view was amazingly beautiful.
  It was a homely felt comfortable 2 nights stay with welcoming smells and cleanliness of the housekeeping.
  The studio was specious than expected and was facilitated with all new furniture and kitchen appliances.
  Support from the English speaking host was immense and was very helpful.
