My Haus Saint Catherine Studio Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to My Haus Saint Catherine Studio on Rue de l’Arc, you’ll notice it doesn’t scream “hotel” from the outside — and honestly, that’s part of its charm. This three-star property sits quietly in one of Brussels‘ most authentic neighborhoods, where locals actually live and work. The entrance feels more like stepping into a well-designed apartment building than a traditional hotel, which makes sense once you see the studio setup inside.
Location & Neighborhood
You know what I love about this spot? It’s right in Sainte-Catherine, which means you’re basically living like a Brussels local for a few days. The famous fish market is just around the corner — I mean, you can smell the fresh seafood in the morning air. Place Sainte-Catherine with its trendy restaurants and cafés is literally a two-minute walk, and the metro connections are solid if you need to get around the city quickly. Couples seem to really get this area (the feedback backs this up), probably because it feels intimate without being touristy.
The Studio Experience
The room is actually more of a studio apartment, which gives you way more space than typical Brussels hotel rooms. There’s a proper kitchenette setup — not just a mini-fridge and kettle, but actual cooking facilities if you want to grab ingredients from the local market. The design is clean and modern without trying too hard, sort of that Scandinavian-meets-Belgian aesthetic that works really well in these converted buildings. Storage space is decent too, which you’ll appreciate if you’re staying more than just a night or two.
Practical Considerations
Here’s the thing about Brussels city center — parking is always going to be a challenge, so factor that in if you’re driving. The building itself is well-maintained, and the recent guest ratings for location really do make sense once you’re here. You’re close enough to the Grand Place and main sights that you can walk, but far enough from the tourist crowds that you get some breathing room. The 7.4 rating feels about right — it’s solid, reliable, and does what it promises without any major surprises.
Why Guests Love It
What really works here is the combination of space, location, and that local neighborhood feel. You’re not just visiting Brussels — you’re actually staying in a part of the city where people live their daily lives. The studio format means you can spread out, cook a simple meal, and feel settled rather than just passing through. For couples especially, there’s something nice about having your own little Brussels base rather than a standard hotel room. It’s not fancy, but it’s genuine, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want. This property truly captures the essence of authentic urban living.

Reviews of My Haus Saint Catherine Studio
Joshua from United States – 2 June 2025 (8/10)
Very nice common area with espresso. Good location.
What could be improved: It’s a little dusty in the hallways and the room has an uncomfortable staircase to navigateAnastasiia from Ireland – 27 December 2024 (8/10)
Very clean place.Very warm in the apartment.Great location.Great mattress in the bedroom. How can I find out where you bought it? I have only pleasant impressions
Sithara from Germany – 26 December 2024 (8/10)
It was a nice cozy place. Everything was perfect
What could be improved: NothingCiara from Ireland – 9 December 2024 (8/10)
Living spaces were lovely. Really warm property, with loads of space. Great coffee machine. Huge TVs with free Netflix. Great location, metro at your door step and train only down the street. You can tell the house has been recently renovated and is being done up gradually from the other reviews, issues with heat and hot water all resolved. Would definitely stay again!!
What could be improved: Not a huge fan of the spiral staircase but we managed it. Wouldn’t be appropriate for anyone with accessibility problems.Mariya from Bulgaria – 21 November 2024 (3/10)
The location was very good, close to shops, centre and metro. Easy to check in. There was coffee available and free wifi. The beds were comfortable. There was a hair dryer available.
What could be improved: There was no heating, since the property is 3 floors it was vey cold most of the time. The walls are very thin so you can hear everyone in the house, also the stairs are metal, not stable at all and making a lot of noise , so if someone goes to the bathroom in the middle of the night everyone wakes up. We tried to make dinner but the oven is not working, there is no place to plug it in.Thrasyvoulos from Greece – 18 November 2024 (8/10)
Beautiful house, quick responses from the owner and lot of things we could use
What could be improved: The oven was not working but we could use another oven instead so even this was not a problem, one heater could have a problem at the middle floorShirley from United Kingdom – 11 November 2024 (7/10)
It was near to the train station.
What could be improved: Maybe a warm curtain would be good to block the bedroom off from the spiral staircase.
No kettle and no tea towel.Randip from Netherlands – 27 October 2024 (1/10)
location
What could be improved: we arrived, code given didn't work. then when we finally got in, the place smelt, sticky floor and dirty. no one had bothered to clean it. finally someone was coming, we had to leave and couldn't leave our bags anywhere because the floors and surfaces were that dirty.
told a time to return and the place was still not ready. top it all off no hot water, couldn't shower.
they response in messages were rude and unhelpful.
stairs are dangerous and you near everything happening in the apartment.
I would not recommend this place to anyone.Johan from Netherlands – 29 September 2024 (8/10)
Ruim en fijne locatie
What could be improved: NvtKaryn from Australia – 18 September 2024 (9/10)
Very new and modern, uniquely set out and centrally located.
A pleasant find.
What could be improved: The spiral staircase although pretty and unique was however loud to use. It would be impossible to take large luggage up and down also so we were grateful we only had carry on.
Downstairs toilet was lacking privacy as it only had a sheer curtain.
Could’ve been cleaned a little more as it was obvious it was a bit of a work site with the dust.
Be careful walking from the train station as we were accosted by some undesirables when we exited.
