Magnifique appartement au coeur du SABLON ! Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Magnifique appartement au coeur du SABLON ! feels like discovering a well-kept secret in one of Brussels’ most coveted neighborhoods. The building sits quietly on Rue Joseph Stevens, and honestly, you might walk past it if you weren’t looking — which is actually part of its charm. This four-star property doesn’t need flashy signage because its location does all the talking. You’re literally in the heart of Sablon, where antique dealers, chocolate shops, and weekend markets create this perfect blend of old-world Brussels with just enough sophistication to keep things interesting.

The Sablon Advantage

I mean, couples rate this location 9.7 out of 10 for good reason — you can walk to everything that matters in Brussels from here. The famous weekend antique market happens right outside your door, and you know what? On Sunday mornings, you’ll hear the gentle buzz of vendors setting up before most tourists even realize what’s happening. Place du Grand Sablon is your front yard, which means you’re steps from some of the city’s best chocolate shops (Pierre Marcolini is practically around the corner) and those cozy bistros that locals actually frequent. The Royal Museums are a five-minute stroll, and getting to Grand Place takes maybe ten minutes on foot through streets that feel authentically Brussels.

The Apartment Experience

What sets this place apart is that it’s actually an apartment, not just another hotel room with generic furniture. The space feels lived-in but refined — you’ll find thoughtful touches that make you want to settle in rather than just crash for the night. The kitchen is properly equipped, which matters more than you’d think when you’re staying in a neighborhood known for its morning bakeries and local markets. You can grab fresh bread from the corner boulangerie and actually enjoy it with proper coffee in your own space. The windows let in that soft Brussels light, and depending on which way you’re facing, you might catch glimpses of the neighborhood’s daily rhythm.

Neighborhood Rhythms

Living in Sablon, even temporarily, gives you this insider perspective on Brussels that most visitors miss entirely. Weekday mornings are quiet and residential — you’ll see locals walking their dogs and heading to work while you’re planning your day over coffee. But weekends transform the area into this vibrant hub where Brusselois come to browse antiques and meet friends for lunch. The Notre-Dame du Sablon church anchors everything with its Gothic presence, and there’s something really satisfying about having such an iconic piece of Brussels architecture as your neighborhood landmark. Plus, you’re close enough to the Marolles district that you can easily explore that grittier, more bohemian side of the city when you want a change of pace.

Why Guests Love It

That 9.1 rating reflects what happens when location, comfort, and authentic Brussels character come together just right. You’re not staying in some tourist bubble — you’re temporarily living in one of the city’s most desirable neighborhoods. The combination of being able to walk everywhere important while having a proper apartment to retreat to creates this perfect balance between exploration and relaxation. Honestly, after a few days here, you’ll understand why couples particularly love this spot — there’s something romantic about having Sablon as your temporary neighborhood, especially when you can walk home through lamp-lit streets after dinner at one of those intimate restaurants tucked into the area’s historic buildings.

Hotel in Brussels reservations rise before the winter Christmas market, so smart travelers lock in Grand Place-view rooms ahead of time.

Reviews of Magnifique appartement au coeur du SABLON !

  • Susan from United States – 31 May 2025 (10/10)

A good amount of space to spread out. Good view with balcony. Convenient to shops, restaurants and markets.

  • Ketelbey from Australia – 2 May 2025 (9/10)

It was very well appointed and presented and in an ideal position for a visit to Brussels

  • Peter from Australia – 14 April 2025 (9/10)

Great central location, clean facilities and accommodation provider answered our queries promptly. Spacious apartment with many attractions and food options close by. Milan Central station easy walking distance.

What could be improved: Not to detract from the property, but to enhance stays…..This property does not have a 24 hour front desk and whilst owner promptly replies to queries, this should be amended on booking sites.
To take up on other comments, the one power point problem in kitchen could be solved with a power board. Instructions required for tv…and one set of bath towels for 5 nights (although they were good quality) is insufficient, albeit another set may have been provided if we asked.

  • Britta from United Kingdom – 3 March 2025 (9/10)

Guests need to be aware of the stairs. No problem for us though. Kitchen had most things, but we couldn't find a chopping board.

  • Michael from Spain – 23 January 2025 (10/10)

Perfect size for a couple. Instructions were easy. Has everything you need. Excellent location and quiet. Great restaurants close by. We loved it.

What could be improved: We weren’t there to watch tv but we did want to check the news about the fires in LA. Just needs operating instructions.

  • Marina from Netherlands – 15 January 2025 (10/10)

Super friendly girl, helped to order taxi from airport to apartment and arranged money exchange , due I had no Lira to pay for taxi..
Saved me at night I was worry to be not able to sleep in airport.
Has a great sleep over , tidy n clean, nicely decorated room . Thanks a lot!

  • Liz from United Kingdom – 26 November 2024 (8/10)

    Lovely spacious simple apartment .
Bed very comfortable. Heating very effective, WiFi ok.

What could be improved: Too many scented things, I wrapped one in a bin liner as the smell was overpowering .
Sofa not comfortable for relaxing on, it was just a perch.

  • Jill from Ireland – 15 November 2024 (9/10)

Loved the location of this property. Really nice vibe in the area wirg galleries and resturants and only a 10 mins stroll to Brussels center and 5 mins to central station. The apartment itself was very well equipped and beautifully decorated. Nespresso machine and pods provided as well as tea and sweets and chocolate. Would have no hesitation in recommending to anyone visiting brussels

What could be improved: Shower could have been a little more powerful but was totally acceptable

  • Grazyna from Poland – 21 October 2024 (10/10)

The flat is furnished with taste and has good vibes.
There's no air-con but large windows in the living room and a sturdy fan help to cool the rooms on boiling-hot summer days.
The kitchen equipment exceeded our expectations. We very much appreciated the coffee machine with an abundant selection of capsules and Belgian chocolates.😙
    Everything was impecably clean.👏
The apartment is located in an atmospheric old tenement house with a renovated staircase and a lift. There are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. It's at a stone's throw from the Grand Sablon and about 7-9 minutes from the central station and Grand Place.
The check-in went smoothly due to Olivia's precise directions.😊

What could be improved: We couldn't find a chopping board.😉

  • Deborah from Canada – 16 October 2024 (10/10)

The apartment was clean, tastefully decorated and perfect for a couple. The walk-in shower was great and the bed was comfortable. The location provided easy access to museums, attractions and restaurants. Check-in was easy because of the clear instructions we received. I’d recommend this apartment to couples or solo travellers.

What could be improved: The kitchen had only one outlet to handle the microwave, kettle, Nespresso and toaster.
