Le cocon du midi – Appartement Cosy Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Le cocon du midi – Appartement Cosy, you might wonder if you’ve got the right address — it’s tucked into a quiet residential street in Anderlecht that feels worlds away from typical tourist chaos. The building itself is classic Brussels architecture, and when you climb to the first floor and turn right, you’ll find what’s honestly one of the most thoughtfully designed apartment stays I’ve encountered. The name translates to “cocoon of the south,” and that’s exactly what this three-star gem delivers — a warm, enveloping space that makes you want to kick off your shoes and stay awhile.

The Space

This isn’t your standard hotel room setup, and that’s precisely the point. Le cocon du midi feels like staying in a friend’s well-appointed apartment, complete with a proper kitchen where you can actually cook (not just reheat leftovers) and living areas that invite you to spread out. The cozy factor is real here — think soft textures, warm lighting, and furniture that’s been chosen for comfort rather than just looking good in photos. I mean, you’ll find yourself lingering over morning coffee because the space just feels right, you know what I mean?

Location & Neighborhood

Anderlecht gets overlooked by a lot of visitors, but honestly, that’s their loss. You’re positioned perfectly here — close enough to central Brussels that you can easily hop on public transport, but far enough out that you get to experience how locals actually live. The Rue Raphaël location puts you in a genuinely residential area where you’ll pass neighbors walking their dogs and kids heading to school. It’s particularly popular with couples (the ratings back this up), and I can see why — there’s something romantic about having your own little Brussels hideaway rather than being stuck in a generic hotel corridor.

Practical Perks

What I really appreciated was how well-equipped everything is for actual living, not just sleeping. The kitchen has proper cookware if you want to hit the local markets, and there’s enough space to actually unpack and settle in for a few days. Recent guests consistently rave about the location, and after spending time here, I get it — you’re connected to the city but not overwhelmed by it. The apartment manages to feel both private and accessible, which is honestly a tricky balance to strike in Brussels.

Why Guests Love It

This place works because it doesn’t try to be something it’s not. Le cocon du midi delivers exactly what its name promises — a cozy retreat where you can experience Brussels like a temporary local rather than a passing tourist. The 8.4 rating reflects what you’ll discover: thoughtful touches, a genuine neighborhood feel, and that rare quality of making you feel at home somewhere new. If you’re the type who values authentic experiences over lobby marble and room service, this Anderlecht apartment will probably win you over completely.

Reviews of Le cocon du midi – Appartement Cosy

  • Khalil from Morocco – 16 May 2025 (8/10)

  • Stephane from France – 14 April 2025 (9/10)

    appartement sympa, décoration moderne

What could be improved: Le quartier

  • Catalina from Chile – 27 February 2025 (9/10)

La pieza y el sofá cama eran cómodos al igual que la cocina, muy equipada. La ubicación era muy buena para llegar al centro incluso caminando. El baño limpio y funcional. Varios lugares donde abastecerse cercano

What could be improved: El barrio era sucio

  • Thoa from United States – 12 January 2025 (8/10)

Comfortable apartment. Close to central. We enjoyed to stay here.

What could be improved: Need fix bathroom door .
Need new electric kettle ( not clean)

  • Sruthi from Netherlands – 25 December 2024 (9/10)

We stayed as a family of 3. The apartment was really spacious and clean with all the facilities. The host was very helpful whenever we called her. We really enjoyed our stay.

What could be improved: The location was not that great, but the metro station is a 4 minute walk.

  • Rudolf from Hungary – 5 November 2024 (9/10)

    Közel a pályaudvarhoz.

What could be improved: A környező utcák szemetesek, de ez nem az apartman hibája.

  • Cristina from Romania – 20 October 2024 (9/10)

    Cald, spatios si bine dotat

  • Makanyaka from France – 24 July 2024 (7/10)

    LA TRANQUILLITÉ, LA DISPONIBILITÉ

What could be improved: Rien à signler

  • Juan from Chile – 24 June 2024 (7/10)

The flat was extremely comfy and big for one or two travellers. It has the essential items to stay at most one week there. You can walk from Bruxelles Midi to the flat in less than twenty minutes since they are near.

What could be improved: The neighbourhood is the worst thing about this accomodation: unsecure, full of rubbish and strange people. Don't get surprised if you look lots of garbage in the street.

  • Anton from Belarus – 9 May 2024 (9/10)

The apartment is pretty good. Everything you might need you will find here. Lidl shop is near the apartment, cafe's near the apartment.

What could be improved: It is nothing the host might change, but the district is pretty unsafe and covered with garbage.
Maybe it is the normal situation here, but for us it was unexpected.
