Hotel Indigo Brussels – City by IHG Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Hotel Indigo Brussels – City by IHG feels like discovering one of those perfectly positioned gems that locals somehow keep to themselves. The lobby has this contemporary Belgian design that doesn’t try too hard — you know what I mean? It’s polished without being stuffy, and there’s something about the way natural light floods through the windows that immediately puts you at ease. The staff actually seems genuinely happy to see you, which honestly isn’t always a given in Brussels.
Location That Actually Matters
Here’s the thing about Place Charles Rogier — it’s one of those addresses that sounds fancy but is actually incredibly practical. You’re in Sint-Joost-ten-Node, which might not ring a bell, but trust me on this one. The location score of 9.0 isn’t just numbers on a website; you can walk to Brussels Central in about fifteen minutes, and the metro connections are right there when you need them. I mean, couples rate it 8.8 for good reason — there’s something romantic about being able to stroll through different neighborhoods without constantly checking your phone for directions.
The Room Experience
The room design follows that signature Hotel Indigo approach where each floor tells a different story about the neighborhood. My four-star accommodation had these subtle nods to Brussels’ comic book heritage — not in a cheesy way, but through artwork and color schemes that felt thoughtful. The bed was properly comfortable (you know how hotel beds can be hit or miss), and the bathroom had one of those rainfall showers that actually works. There’s decent storage space too, which matters more than you’d think when you’re living out of a suitcase.
Breakfast and Dining
The breakfast situation here is actually impressive — they’ve got everything from continental basics to full English options, plus proper vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free choices that don’t feel like afterthoughts. The buffet setup flows well, so you’re not bumping into other guests while trying to get your coffee. What I appreciated was how they source some local Belgian items alongside the international standards. The restaurant area has these large windows overlooking the square, and honestly, watching Brussels wake up while you’re having your morning coffee is pretty perfect.
Why Guests Love It
Look, an 8.4 rating tells you most of what you need to know, but here’s what that actually means in practice. The hotel sits in what’s genuinely considered the best-rated area in Brussels — not just marketing speak, but the kind of location where you can walk to major attractions, find great local restaurants, and still feel like you’re experiencing the real city. The service feels personal without being intrusive, and there’s reliable parking available if you’re driving (which in Brussels city center is actually a big deal). It’s the sort of place where everything just works the way it should, and you end up recommending it to friends back home.

Very nice hotel, the staff is awesome and very helpful whatever time it is. I had my clothes cleaned on day 1 which was highly appreciated.
Excellent breakfast !!
What could be improved: I found the room a little bit noisy (sirens and traffic especially) despite being at a floor 8.
Also the heater was not functioning that well, which was resolved with an extra blanket.Harriet from United Kingdom – 1 May 2025 (8/10)
