Atelier K – Art Guesthouse in Brussels Overview

You know what, when I first walked into Atelier K – Art Guesthouse in Brussels, I was genuinely impressed. Located on 133 Rue Keyenveld, it’s a 4-star hotel with an 8.9 rating, and honestly, it feels like a cozy little gem tucked away in the heart of the city. The moment I stepped in, I was welcomed by the warm and vibrant colors that adorned the walls, each room a unique canvas of art. It’s not just a place to sleep, but a living, breathing gallery.

The guesthouse is situated in a quiet residential area, just a stone’s throw from the bustling streets of Elsene/Ixelles. I mean, you can easily walk to the famous Flagey Square, where locals gather for a drink or a bite to eat. The location is spot on, especially if you want to avoid the tourist crowds and experience the city like a local. Parking can be a bit tricky, but there’s a garage nearby, which was a relief after a long day of exploring.

What makes Atelier K stand out, though, is the attention to detail. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, with a blend of modern comforts and artistic flair. I remember waking up to the smell of fresh coffee wafting from the breakfast area, and the friendly staff always had a smile and a helpful suggestion for where to go next. The check-in process was a breeze, and they even offered a map with their favorite spots marked – a nice touch that made me feel right at home.

So, if you’re looking for a place that’s a bit off the beaten path, where you can immerse yourself in art and culture without sacrificing comfort, Atelier K is definitely worth considering. It’s a place where you can unwind after a day of sightseeing, enjoy a quiet evening, and wake up to the sounds of Brussels coming to life. I mean, it’s not just a hotel; it’s an experience.

Reviews of Atelier K – Art Guesthouse in Brussels

  • Steve from United Kingdom – 1 June 2025 (9/10)

Absolute luxury! Great communication with the owner, checking in was a breeze. Beautiful building, good location, great facilities. Great coffee! Highly recommended 👍

  • Conor from United Kingdom – 1 June 2025 (8/10)

The way the room is designed was very appealing. The bed was very comfortable. Everything worked well. The staff were more than helpful and responded very quickly. Good value for money.

What could be improved: Nothing to dislike but if I had to pick anything I’d say just where the place is located. It’s not too far but around 30 min walk to get into the centre of Brussels.

  • Stephen from United Kingdom – 27 May 2025 (9/10)

Quiet. Stylish decor. Comfortable bed. Very friendly and helpful staff. Well equipped shared kitchen. No problems with the arrangements.

What could be improved: As all the rooms are styled individually it was a little difficult to know which room we had booked and had to confirm this by messaging the manager, Lisa, who was very helpful. However, on talking to her when we were at the property, the problem seems to be with the inflexibility of the booking.com website.

  • Scott from United Kingdom – 27 May 2025 (9/10)

    Small but perfectly formed

What could be improved: On 4th floor

  • Judy from Australia – 26 May 2025 (9/10)

The space of the Matisse room and location was central. Welcome by Lisa and her attentive communication was appreciated. She went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable
Facility to cook a meal and own breakfast was great compared to a hotel.
Garden setting very pretty and a welcome feature.

What could be improved: Could have tv connection to news services hooked in for easy access
Downlights need to be fitted above kitchen space in Matisse room

  • Bogdan from Serbia – 22 May 2025 (9/10)

Room was spacious and clean, common areas are amazing especially the garden, nice quiet neighbourhood, easy check-in and check-out, highly recommended

  • Warren from United Kingdom – 21 May 2025 (9/10)

Amazing serviced room, the whole guesthouse was furnished in Magritte design, exceptional living spaces with designer room

15 minute walk to the Grand Place, w minutes to trendy bar area but none of the noise

  • Ian from Belgium – 17 May 2025 (9/10)

lovely decor, beautiful vegetated courtyard, great shower, comfortable bed, very attractive common area and kitchen, free coffee capsules

What could be improved: nothing really. room a bit too hot,. more space would of course be nice!

  • Josefina from Canada – 14 May 2025 (9/10)

The place was near the transit. It has nice garden, huge kitchen with amenities. A few minutes by bus to the major tourist attractions. The place was clean and good communication with staff.

    What could be improved: None

  • Alexandru from Germany – 14 May 2025 (9/10)

Had everything needed, all revamped / new, comfortable and large spaces, coffee machines in the room and kitchen, beautiful common spaces, comfy bed, great room with a wall of windows/doors opening onto the garden, quiet inner courtyard, very clean.

What could be improved: The room was in the annex and the way it was redone – with wooden planks floors and no sound insulation – meant that i could hear everything in the building – from the people walking up the (wooden) stairs to them walking about in the rooms, to them talking. It is true it was a somewhat extrovert-loud crowd, but the absence of more than a few cm of wood between the floors meant that we were closer neighbors than desired – almost as if living in the same room.
PS: vacuuming under the bed / around the mattress wouldn’t hurt.
PS 2: it would probably help to have a set of cutlery available in the room, since a fridge and microwave were already available, rather than having to fetch them from the main building.
