Holiday Inn Brussels Schuman by IHG Overview
First Impressions
Walking into the Holiday Inn Brussels Schuman by IHG, you immediately get that this isn’t your typical chain hotel experience. The lobby has this polished, business-friendly vibe that makes sense once you realize you’re basically in the heart of the European Quarter. I mean, you’re literally surrounded by EU institutions here — the European Parliament is practically next door. It’s a four-star property that clearly knows its audience, and honestly, they’ve nailed the balance between professional and welcoming. The atmosphere strikes an impressive chord with visitors seeking both comfort and convenience.
Location & Neighborhood
The location on Rue Breydel is actually brilliant if you’re here for business or want to explore Brussels properly. You’re in Schuman, which locals know as the EU district, but what’s great is how walkable everything becomes from here. The Schuman metro station is right there, so you can hop on and be at Grand Place in about ten minutes. I’ve noticed couples particularly love staying here — apparently they rate the location 9.0, and I get why. You’ve got that perfect mix of being central but not touristy-chaotic. The neighborhood offers excellent access to cultural attractions and dining venues.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was exactly what you’d expect from a well-run Holiday Inn, but with some nice European touches. Clean lines, decent space, and — this matters more than you’d think — really good blackout curtains. The beds are comfortable, and there’s enough desk space if you need to work. What I appreciated was the attention to details like having multiple charging points and proper lighting. Nothing fancy, but everything works as it should. The overall design creates a welcoming retreat after a busy day.
Breakfast & Dining
The breakfast here is actually worth getting up for, which isn’t something I say lightly about hotel breakfasts. They do both continental and buffet options, and the quality is solid — fresh pastries, good coffee, and enough variety to keep you happy whether you’re rushing to a meeting or taking your time. There’s also a restaurant on-site that serves decent international cuisine, though honestly, with Brussels’ incredible food scene right outside, you might want to venture out for dinner. The culinary offerings cater to diverse tastes and dietary preferences.
Why Guests Love It
Here’s what really sets this place apart — the repeat guest factor is unusually high, and after staying here, I understand why. The staff genuinely seem to care, there’s parking available (which is gold in Brussels), and the whole operation just runs smoothly. You’re not dealing with the quirks that sometimes come with boutique hotels, but you’re also not getting that sterile chain hotel feeling. It’s reliable in the best possible way, and when you’re traveling for business or exploring a new city, that reliability becomes incredibly valuable. Plus, that 8.5 rating isn’t just numbers — you feel it in how everything works together. This property consistently delivers on its promises to guests.
Travelers should reserve a hotel in Brussels at least two months ahead of their visit to ensure availability and secure better rates, especially during the peak summer season when the city hosts numerous cultural festivals.

Hotel is nice and cozy, very close to the metro station. Also within 10min walk you can reach Place Jourdan with many places to eat and drink. The room was nice, big enough and we had a balcony. The bed was really comfy. Breakfast was the same every day, but plenty of choises to choose from.
What could be improved: The breakfast juice was not good. The rooms are not sound-proof.Gabriele from Italy – 29 May 2025 (9/10)

I would like to thank the hotel team for the pleasant stay. Both me and my colleagues were satisfied with the hotel conditions and the professional staff. In this context, I would like to thank Deniz BAYRAM (from the reception) for his care and hospitality.

The hotel was great, I had a comfortable and clean room, helpful staff and is in the perfect location for me, but the most I appreciated they allowed me to check in a few hours earlier.
