B&B DRUUM Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to B&B DRUUM on Hopstraat, you immediately get that “hidden gem” feeling — it’s tucked into this charming street that feels authentically Brussels without the tourist chaos. The building has that classic Belgian townhouse character, and honestly, the location alone makes you feel like you’ve stumbled onto something special. This four-star B&B sits right in the heart of Brussels, and I mean really in the heart — you’re basically a few minutes’ walk from everything that matters.

The Perfect Brussels Base

What I love about this spot is how it puts you right in the real Brussels, not some sanitized tourist bubble. You’re close enough to the Grand Place that you can wander over for morning coffee, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with crowds outside your window. The location score of 9.1 isn’t just numbers — couples especially seem to get it, rating it 9.2 for romantic trips. There’s something about being able to duck into authentic Belgian cafés and then retreat to this peaceful street that just works.

The Room Experience

Here’s where B&B DRUUM really shines — the beds are genuinely fantastic. I know every hotel claims comfortable beds, but guests consistently rave about the sleep quality here, and after experiencing it myself, I get why. The room design strikes that perfect balance between cozy B&B charm and modern comfort. You’re not getting cookie-cutter hotel furniture — there’s actual character here, with thoughtful touches that make the space feel more like staying at a stylish friend’s place than a generic accommodation.

Morning Fuel

The breakfast situation is actually impressive for a B&B this size. They’ve got the continental basics covered, but what surprised me was the range — vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options that don’t feel like afterthoughts. The buffet setup lets you take your time, and you know what? Sometimes that leisurely morning meal with good coffee is exactly what you need before diving into Brussels’ cobblestone streets. It’s the kind of breakfast that sets you up properly for a day of exploring.

Why Guests Love It

The 8.8 rating tells the real story — this place consistently delivers on what matters most to travelers. You’ve got parking available on-site, which anyone who’s tried to navigate Brussels by car will appreciate. But beyond the practical stuff, there’s something about the whole experience that feels right. The staff actually knows the neighborhood and can point you toward the good stuff — not just the obvious tourist spots, but the places locals actually go. It’s that combination of genuine hospitality, a killer location, and attention to comfort details that makes B&B DRUUM work so well for both first-time Brussels visitors and people who’ve been coming back for years.

  • William from United States – 30 May 2025 (9/10)

Loved the artsy, light filled room. Huge shower, comfy bed, delicious breakfast.

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Tsizh from Spain – 22 May 2025 (9/10)

everything was very nice and I really liked it

What could be improved: the only thing that was strange was the two guys in the shower.
It's really strange. We closed them so they wouldn't look at us. Everything else was great!

  • Subin from Germany – 12 May 2025 (9/10)

super friendly staff, clean and spacious room, nice breakfast, unique interior, easy to get from the city center (on foot), calm and peaceful area.

    What could be improved: none

  • Rade from Croatia – 3 May 2025 (9/10)

Nice staff, verry good breakfast, good location.

  • Yat from United Kingdom – 3 May 2025 (9/10)

Quirky room design within historic building. Very nice terrace. Good location within a short walk of city centre. Great breakfast.

  • Stephane from Netherlands – 30 April 2025 (9/10)

Great service with friendly staff. The room is great and so much fun for the kids.Location is great if you come by public transport and if you intend to walk, do not come by car – Brussels is just a mess

What could be improved: See above – access to the location by car is just awful

  • Alan from United Kingdom – 22 April 2025 (8/10)

Room was great. Large, clean, modern and bright.
Kitchen facilities downstairs were great and a nice friendly atmosphere.
20 minutes walk to Brussels midi station.

What could be improved: I was a little worried about the area walking from Brussels centre but saying that I had no issues at all.
Maybe me being a little sensitive.

  • Mike from United Kingdom – 19 April 2025 (9/10)

The decor of my room was fantastic- such a refreshing change to the ubiquity of vanilla hotel rooms.
After a busy day wandering in Brussels, it was a pleasure to spend time in my beautiful room. I instantly warmed to the room – it felt more like a home bedroom than a hotel room. Also, the room was huge!

What could be improved: A bit more choice for breakfast would not have gone amiss.

  • Jeon from Germany – 13 April 2025 (9/10)

We got a big room with a cute balcony. It was great to sit and have some snacks in the evening. Considering that Brüssel is such an expensive city, I think it was even cheap with a breakfast. We got to use the kitchen for preparing small meals. Also easy to get to the station.

  • Hayley from United Kingdom – 24 March 2025 (8/10)

Really friendly staff. Large unique rooms, lovely and bright!

What could be improved: Room would benefit from a desk/dressing table. Shower base was slippy with soap from previous guest.
