Hearth of Brussels Gateway Overview

Tucked away on Avenue Mutsaard in the charming Laeken district, the Hearth of Brussels Gateway is a cozy 4-star haven that feels like a home away from home. I remember pulling up to the hotel, impressed by its modern facade that somehow blended seamlessly with the historic surroundings. Honestly, the rating of 7.9 is spot on; it’s not perfect, but it’s got a charm that makes up for any minor shortcomings.

You know what, the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere. The lobby’s tasteful decor and the friendly staff make you feel right at home. I mean, the attention to detail is impressive, from the soft lighting to the comfortable seating areas. There’s even a lovely little coffee corner where you can grab a quick caffeine fix before heading out to explore Brussels.

The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, with a touch of modern elegance. I particularly appreciated the soundproof windows, which kept the noise from the bustling avenue outside at bay. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the rainfall shower was a real treat after a long day of sightseeing. There’s also a small, but well-equipped gym for those who want to keep up with their fitness routine.

Practically speaking, the Hearth of Brussels Gateway is well-situated for exploring the city. It’s just a short walk to the iconic Atomium and a bit further to the picturesque Royal Greenhouses of Laeken. Parking can be a bit tricky in this area, but the hotel offers secure parking, which was a relief. Check-in was a breeze, and the staff were more than happy to offer suggestions for local eateries and attractions.

In terms of timing, I found the hotel to be a bit quieter during the weekdays, which suited me just fine. But, you know, during the weekends, it can get a bit busier, especially with families checking in. So, if you’re looking for a peaceful retreat, mid-week might be your best bet.

All in all, if you’re after a comfortable, well-located base for your Brussels adventure, the Hearth of Brussels Gateway is a solid choice. It’s got the warmth of a boutique hotel with the amenities you’d expect from a 4-star property. You’ll definitely feel well taken care of here.

Reviews of Hearth of Brussels Gateway

  • Stanley from Germany – 1 May 2025 (5/10)

    Location is good

What could be improved: In the website they say there is free parking, but not true u have to pay for parking. There were no keys in the bedrooms and toilet doors.

  • Chaitanya from Sweden – 24 April 2025 (9/10)

Close to atomium and metro. Very spacious for 5 people. Nice and clean.

What could be improved: Nothing to complain.

  • Marco from Germany – 22 March 2025 (7/10)

Comfortable apartment. In a good position to visit Brussels, even if far away from the centre. Supermarket nearby. Several restaurants nearby.

What could be improved: Parking is not free of charge from 9 am to 9 pm.

  • Jalal from Germany – 28 January 2025 (8/10)

For travelers with several children this is a good choice.
That balcony is a good option if the weather is ok.
Devices at the apartment were working.

What could be improved: I wished the toilet could be bigger, but the bathroom was good.

  • Philip from United Kingdom – 25 November 2024 (4/10)

I was happy we eventually managed to enter the apartment and get some sleep despite the challenges

What could be improved: We arrived at midnight in freezing weather, and were very grateful that the external door was unlocked at least. We then located the correct post box, only to discover that the key container was bolted inside, and it was a bit like trying to crack a safe through a letterbox. And when we finally solved that, then there was some kind of magnetic device we needed to use before we could gain entrance. Might've been lots of fun if we hadn't been so cold and tired at the time. The apartment was beautiful, but nearly all of the rooms were locked. At first we thought this might be just another part of the Escape Room experience, but it turns out they'd assumed we were a couple who only needed a double-bed, so they'd locked all of the other rooms and gone to bed. My friend didn't want to sleep in the same bed as me (can't say I blame him), so he slept on the couch instead. The bathroom and toilet didn't have any keys to lock them, and no towels were provided (maybe they were locked away somewhere behind one of those doors), so I managed to make do with the floor towel instead. The bathroom was wonderfully toasty, but the bathtub's hot tap was only warm, so I had to fill it mostly by boiling the kettle. All in all, it was a challenging experience, but we survived.

P.S. The apartment's decor is fascinating – I'm still trying to work out whether the owner is a witch doctor, Zulu warrior, or pimp. Hope he won't kill me for writing this review – they offered me 25% off my next stay as compensation, but I decided it was more important to write an honest review. Good luck everyone!

  • Nurul from Malaysia – 16 October 2024 (7/10)

Location nice, nice unit and nice decoration

What could be improved: Property lift is not functioning. We had to carry all our heavy luggage to the property by stairs.

  • Igrksk from Brazil – 30 September 2024 (8/10)

Wonderful apartment with all the amenities. The parking is public and outside the building and the main attractions of the city are quite far, so you need to consider a car to visit Brussels.

What could be improved: Despite the excelent apartment, the building is quite old and need a renovation. The lift was not operational during our stay.

  • Nitin from India – 7 June 2024 (9/10)

Apartment is big and well organised. It has nice city view

  • Anjana from Estonia – 26 May 2024 (6/10)

    Spacious and neat

What could be improved: Bathroom didnt have any lock. It was broken. Apartment lift was terrible and small . Location is so far from centrum

  • Sebastien from Austria – 21 March 2024 (9/10)

The comfort. Nearby our daughter's place.

What could be improved: Unfortunately, our breakfast was a bit "shacked" by workers from the heating company.
