En plein cœur de Bruxelles. Superbe duplex.A voir! Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to En plein cœur de Bruxelles. Superbe duplex.A voir! on Rue de la Cigogne, you immediately get that “hidden gem” feeling. The building itself has that classic Brussels charm — you know, the kind where you’re not quite sure what to expect until you step inside. This three-star property doesn’t try to be flashy, but honestly, that’s part of what makes it work so well. The entrance has character and personality that sets it apart from standard hotel chains.

The Duplex Experience

The duplex setup is actually pretty clever — you get way more space than your typical hotel room, which feels almost like having your own little Brussels hideaway. The layout flows naturally between levels, and there’s something satisfying about having that separation between your sleeping and living areas. The space feels thoughtfully designed rather than just thrown together. You’ll appreciate the vertical arrangement that gives you distinct zones for relaxation and rest.

Location That Actually Matters

Here’s the thing about the location — it’s genuinely excellent, not just marketing speak. You’re literally in the heart of everything, which means you can walk to the Grand Place in about five minutes, but you’re tucked away enough on this quiet street that you won’t hear tourist crowds at night. Couples seem to really get this balance because you can easily wander to dinner somewhere romantic without dealing with the hassle of transportation or planning. The positioning offers the best of both worlds for travelers seeking authentic experiences.

What Works in Practice

The neighborhood around Rue de la Cigogne is one of those areas where locals actually live and work, so you’ll find proper cafes and small shops mixed in with the tourist spots. There’s a good bakery just around the corner — the kind where they know regulars by name but don’t mind if you point at pastries instead of attempting French. The building’s entrance is easy to miss if you’re not looking for it, which adds to that “local secret” vibe. You’ll discover genuine Brussels character in every corner of this vibrant district.

Why Guests Love It

What really sets this place apart is how it balances accessibility with authenticity. You’re not staying in some sterile hotel corridor — you’re in a real Brussels building, in a real Brussels neighborhood, but with all the practical advantages of being steps from major sights. The duplex format gives you room to spread out and actually live a bit during your stay, rather than just sleeping between sightseeing sessions. For the price point and location, it’s honestly hard to argue with the value, especially if you appreciate having space to breathe and a genuine neighborhood feel. This property delivers on the promise of an authentic Brussels experience without compromising on comfort or convenience.

Reviews of En plein cœur de Bruxelles. Superbe duplex.A voir!

  • Clifford from Ireland – 12 December 2024 (8/10)

Very handy for the metro and close to city centre.

  • Amelia from Canada – 30 August 2024 (8/10)

Spacious and clean and walking distance to the grand palace.

What could be improved: No bed sheets for the other 2 people. I booked for 4 people but no sheets and pillows for my 2 companions.

  • Mobie from United Kingdom – 14 August 2024 (7/10)

Loved the location of the place, it's central and close to metro stations. The house has all the amenities required for a short stay.

What could be improved: The bathroom was not clean and the floor upstairs was sticky and dirty. It could use a good scrub. The linens need changing and so do the towels. Also the stairs are not very safe for toddlers. could have used a fan as it gets really warm during summers.

  • Bpk44 from New Zealand – 20 July 2024 (7/10)

    Close to town
    The street is very beautiful

What could be improved: Very noisy neighbours at night.
    Steep staricase to bedroom
could have been better with a microwave

  • Catharina from Switzerland – 22 January 2024 (8/10)

Lovely duplex with excellent location. Clean and nice and spacious bedroom. Everything you need around kitchen ware was available. The host replies quickly with friendly replies.

What could be improved: Just the noisy warm water boiler and running toilet, but surely these things can be fixed and are nothing bad about the apartment.

  • Matthew from United Kingdom – 17 August 2023 (9/10)

The location was really central. There were bars, cafes and restaurants in easy walking distance. The city centre was in walking distance. The flat was basic, but had what we needed, including wifi, a TV with Netfix (for the kids in the evening, and a small kitchen so we could prepare breakfast in the morning.

What could be improved: It could have been a bit cleaner. We were a bit confused about the coffee maker at first. A short welcome book would really help with instructions for using the coffee maker and other general useful information.

  • Julia from United Kingdom – 16 July 2023 (9/10)

Great location, very clean and well equipped

What could be improved: The downstairs area was a bit dark and the blind was broken so we couldn't open it.

  • Ineta from Latvia – 13 July 2023 (9/10)

Very good place. Close to the station, but the street is quiet and peaceful. Good location if you travel by public transport. The apartment is very clean and well equipped.

What could be improved: A small remark, which may have already been resolved – does not work kettle.

  • Claire from United Kingdom – 11 April 2023 (9/10)

Location excellent, central within easy walking distance of attractions e.g Grande Place, palaces, cathedral, Brussels Park and shops. Lovely house down a cute cobbled alleyway. Comfortable and well equipped. Comfortable bed. We messaged in advance of arrival to ask precise address and how to get the keys and received a response within 24 hours. Easy enough to find with Google maps. Good choice of bars and eateries nearby.

What could be improved: Nothing, it's what we expected.

  • Taewoong from South Korea – 3 January 2023 (9/10)

First of all, I really want to appreciate to the host. She was very kind, and tried to solve every single problems we had while we were struggling.

Overall, we really satisfied with our staying in this house. Easy to find where it is, 2 big rooms for 3 people. Of course it was cleaned well enough to feel comfy.

I would like to recommend to the other guest who is looking forward to visit the Brussels.
