Cosy appartement with canal view Overview

First Impressions

When I first stepped into Cosy appartement with canal view, I honestly wasn’t expecting much from a three-star place — but this little gem completely changed my mind. The name pretty much tells you everything you need to know, and they’re not overselling it. You’re literally looking out at one of Brussels’ quieter canals, and there’s something genuinely soothing about watching the water from your window while you have your morning coffee.

Location & Neighborhood

The location on Boulevard de Nieuport is actually brilliant — you’re right in the heart of Brussels without being stuck in the tourist chaos. I mean, you can walk to Grand Place in about ten minutes, but you’re tucked away enough that you won’t hear drunk tourists singing at 2 AM. The street itself has this authentic Brussels vibe with local cafés and small shops that actually serve residents, not just visitors. What really struck me is how couples seem to gravitate toward this area — and honestly, I get it. There’s something romantic about those canal views, especially in the evening when the lights reflect on the water.

The Space

The apartment setup works really well if you’re staying more than just a night or two. You’ve got a proper kitchenette where you can actually cook something decent — not just reheat leftovers. The room feels more spacious than typical Brussels accommodations, which tend to be pretty compact. I appreciated having a real living area where you can spread out a bit, maybe plan your day without sitting on the bed. The canal view isn’t just marketing speak either — you’re genuinely looking out at the water, and depending on which way you’re facing, you might catch some nice light in the afternoons.

Practical Considerations

One thing that surprised me was how quiet it actually gets at night, considering you’re so central. The building seems well-insulated, and the canal-side location means less street traffic than you’d expect. The parking situation is typical Brussels — meaning challenging — but that’s true anywhere in the city center. You’re better off using public transport anyway, and there are good connections nearby. The building itself feels well-maintained without being fancy, which matches the three-star rating perfectly.

Why Guests Love It

What makes this place work is that it delivers exactly what it promises without trying to be something it’s not. You get that canal view, you get a cozy space that feels more like a temporary home than a hotel room, and you’re positioned perfectly to explore Brussels on foot. The fact that couples rate the location so highly makes sense — there’s something intimate about having your own little apartment overlooking the water. It’s comfortable and authentic, which honestly feels more Brussels than staying in some generic hotel chain. For the price point, you’re getting solid value and a genuinely local experience.

Many travelers prefer to book apartments in Brussels through local agencies that offer personalized recommendations and insider knowledge about the best neighborhoods for exploring the city’s rich cultural heritage.

Reviews of Cosy appartement with canal view

  • Gemma from United Kingdom – 12 April 2025 (8/10)

Great location. The only down point is that the toilet is very small. However, the apartment was beautifully clean, and we had a lovely stay.

  • Tereza from United Kingdom – 30 October 2024 (9/10)

Nice and modern apartment – looks exactly like in the pictures. It had all the amenities we needed. Tram stop and a metro are both very close, which was convenient for getting around the city.

  • Eduard from United Kingdom – 29 May 2024 (8/10)

I like that it was cosy, feels like home, very clean, we have a fridge, and coffee machine.
The pictures are what the apartment looks like. My family and I enjoyed our stay at the apartment. The host was very proactive and engaging before and when checking out.
    Great value for money.

  • Lauren from Luxembourg – 27 May 2024 (8/10)

Very spacious accommodation, great access to the city, and perfect for an overnight stop. Nice and clean, with extra bedding in the cupboards for the sleeper couch. Kitchen facilities are great for making meals, with everything you need there.

What could be improved: The bathroom facilities were a bit cramped for families, but fine for what you need. On a main road, which is great for access to the city, but very loud at night with the sirens and ambulances going past.

  • Shalini from United Kingdom – 16 April 2024 (9/10)

This cozy apartment boasts a convenient location. Metro and tram stations are just steps away, making it easy to explore Brussel's vibrant city center. We even walked there with our young kids from Grand Place around 9pm, and it felt okay (busy streets full of restaurants – just one or two low-lit residential streets). Both centraal and zuid-midi stations are not far too – we used tram, tube and Uber. All good means of connections and very convenient.
The host provided a convenient access code for a smooth check-in and he was very kind to let us check-in at 12pm -earlier than time advertised. The apartment itself is a small cozy one-bedroom flat- okay for our family of four. While it has a dedicated bedroom, the comfortable sofa bed in the living area easily accommodated our two young children. We also appreciated the dining table with seating for four, perfect for meals or game nights. Entertainment was covered with a TV offering a Wi-Fi connection. The existing pictures truly depict the actual apartment.
The thoughtful host provided everything we needed for a relaxing stay: fresh towels, toiletries, an iron, a fan, and even a coat hanger. The well-equipped kitchenette was ideal for short stays, featuring a microwave, fridge, hob, chimney extractor, coffee machine, and oven. Utensils, crockery, and cutlery were all included, making meal preparation a breeze. They even went the extra mile with complimentary coffee pods, sugar, pepper, and salt!

What could be improved: We had flat on first floor and we had heavy luggage – so it was a bit of struggle to carry it upstairs as the stairs are very narrow. It is on a fairly busy road – even at night so some noise might be noticeable for guests with light sleep. Ear plugs could be helpful for those extra sensitive to sound.

  • Ekateryna from Ukraine – 14 February 2024 (9/10)

-Good apartment in a renovated house with a few neighbors only
    – Self check-in
    – The host sent a message that the apartment is ready for check-in 2 hours before regulated time
    – Complementary coffee , sugar
    – Electric appliances such as a coffee machine, microwave oven
-In the immediate vicinity of the city center
    – Toiletries
    – Super comfortable bed, doesn’t squeak

What could be improved: Nothing to complain about, but a sink in a bedroom is a bit weird😏

  • Kirstie from United Kingdom – 9 December 2023 (8/10)

Great location to the Christmas Markets – nice and warm with great facilities in the kitchen.

What could be improved: Could do with a bedside table in the bedroom and also a hook for the towels.
Interesting bathroom! The shower and toilet are separate (imagine 2 walk in cupboards) with the basin in the bedroom. As other reviews state the toilet is tiny.

  • Dinye from Germany – 11 November 2023 (9/10)

Big space, clean, has everything you need. There's a delicious bakery close to it.

  • Betül from Turkey – 1 November 2023 (8/10)

Location was good. Clean place. Fresh and it has everything you need. Microwave and etc. They concern our requests so thank you 🙂

  • Richard from United Kingdom – 18 October 2023 (8/10)

Relatively close to the city centre and a lovely clean modern apartment.

What could be improved: Busy road directly outside the property was quite loud throughout the night.
