You know what’s incredible about this place? That 9.7 location score isn’t just marketing fluff — it’s genuinely earned. I could walk to the Grand Place in about eight minutes, and the Manneken Pis is practically around the corner. But here’s what I really loved: you’re close enough to everything that matters, yet the street itself is quiet enough that you can actually sleep at night. The neighborhood has that perfect Brussels mix of locals heading to work and tourists discovering hidden chocolate shops. There’s a fantastic little café right downstairs, and honestly, I found myself grabbing coffee there most mornings instead of venturing far.

The Room Experience

The rooms at Center Design Residence live up to the “design” part of the name without being pretentious about it. Everything feels intentional — from the lighting that actually works for reading to storage solutions that make sense for travelers. I appreciated that they didn’t sacrifice comfort for style; the bed was genuinely comfortable, and the bathroom, while compact, had everything I needed. The windows are well-insulated, which matters more than you’d think in a busy city center. It’s not huge, but it’s thoughtfully laid out in a way that makes the space feel larger than it actually is.

Practical Considerations

Being a smaller property means you get more personal attention, though don’t expect round-the-clock concierge service. The staff knows the neighborhood well and gave me solid recommendations that felt authentic rather than touristy. One thing to note — there’s no traditional breakfast setup, but honestly, with Brussels’ café culture right outside your door, I didn’t miss it. The building has character, which means you might hear some creaking, but it adds to the authentic Brussels experience rather than detracting from it.

I can absolutely see why couples rate this place so highly for romantic getaways. There’s something intimate about the scale and style that makes it feel like your own little Brussels pied-à-terre. The location means you can easily duck back for an afternoon rest between exploring, and the evening stroll to dinner through the historic streets never gets old.   What could be improved: A lot of (fruit) flies. Poor check in instructions: key lock box was actually ACROSS the street and hard to find. The front door very hard to open and the manager called me right before check in that he wanted to move us to another appartement because he could not figure out how to unfold the sofa bed couch! We needed to stay in that particular location, so we did not move and googled the brand of the sofa bed couch and figured it out. Also there was a lot of old random “stuff “ in the apartment, apparently left by previous travelers. Also shower door moves and leeks. My husband had to fix the bathroom sink, which didn’t drain.

  Just 8 mins walk from central station. can walk to almost all major attraction. During our stay, the temperature is still low, there are 4 portable heater in the unit, even 1 is not working, is still enough to kept us warm.

  Great location of the apartment: walking distance to the Brussels interesting places. On the other hand, a proximity to a cozy restaurant area. The actual street is very calm.
  Apartment's furnishing includes everything that you may need for a short stay. There are also some helpful supplies, like tea bags, coffee capsules, clothes washing liquid. I appreciated that some non-perishing food (flour, sugar, spices) left by previous guests were there in the kitchen.
  
  What could be improved: The apartment was not clean, I could find a full baby's diaper in the night stand. Especially bathroom was a little bit disgusting. The glass screen destined to protect the bathroom from being flooded from the bathtub leaked.
  In addition I plugged the wash basin and the plug got stuck. Hence we could hardly use the wash basin. I let the host know however it was never fixed.
  Some of the furniture was broken (coffee table, little lamp).
