Cityhome Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Cityhome on Rue de Hollande, you might actually walk right past it if you’re not paying attention — and that’s sort of the point. This three-star place sits quietly on the ground floor of a typical Brussels townhouse, blending into the neighborhood like it belongs there. I mean, it does belong there, which is exactly what makes it work so well for travelers who want to feel less like tourists and more like temporary locals.
The Saint-Gilles Advantage
Here’s what I love about staying in Saint-Gilles — you’re close enough to everything that matters, but far enough from the tourist crowds that you can actually breathe. The Parvis de Saint-Gilles is just a few minutes’ walk away, and honestly, that little square has some of the best people-watching in the city. You’ll find yourself grabbing coffee there most mornings, I guarantee it. The tram connections are solid too, so getting to Grand Place or the European Quarter is straightforward without dealing with the noise and chaos of staying right in the center.
Inside Your Space
The room I stayed in felt more like a friend’s well-organized studio than a hotel space — which makes sense given the name, actually. Everything you need is there: a compact kitchenette that’s surprisingly functional, decent Wi-Fi, and a bed that doesn’t leave you counting springs. The design is clean and unfussy, though don’t expect Instagram-worthy interiors. What you get instead is practical comfort that works for both quick business trips and longer stays where you want to cook your own meals occasionally.
The Neighborhood Rhythm
What really struck me about this area is how it comes alive in the evenings. The streets around Cityhome fill up with locals heading to dinner, and there’s this great mix of traditional Belgian spots and newer places run by younger chefs. You know what’s nice? You can walk to Châtelain market on Wednesdays for fresh produce, or hit up the vintage shops along Chaussée de Charleroi when you need a break from sightseeing. It’s the kind of neighborhood where you start recognizing faces after a few days.
Why Guests Love It
The couples who rate this place highly aren’t wrong — there’s something romantic about having your own little corner of Brussels, complete with a kitchen where you can make breakfast together and windows that look out onto real neighborhood life. It’s not flashy or particularly memorable in terms of design, but it gives you space to create your own Brussels experience rather than having one packaged for you. Plus, the value is solid for what you get, especially considering how expensive some of the more central options can be. If you’re the type who prefers exploring a city at your own pace rather than checking tourist boxes, this quiet spot in Saint-Gilles might be exactly what you’re looking for.

Reviews of Cityhome
Habibullah from Italy – 16 May 2025 (8/10)
Close to Brussel Midi station, metro and Bus (5 minute walk).
Hot and cold water are well functioned.
Spaciuos bathroom.
Nice kitchen, sofa, and dining table.
What could be improved: The door is time-worn and it is hard to lock and unlock, the owner have to change it with a better one.
The entrance pathway to the main door need to be cleaned and the wall need to be painted.
The view from a badroom window is like a haunted house.
