I’ll be honest — finding apartment 213 in Bloc 2 took me a minute (the gallery can be a maze if you’re not paying attention), but once you’re there, you realize you’ve landed in something special. This four-star property sits right in the thick of things on Rue des Fripiers, and I mean right in the heart of Brussels — you can practically feel the city’s pulse from your window.

Location That Actually Matters

Here’s what I love about staying here: you’re literally steps from Grand Place, but you’re not dealing with the tourist chaos right outside your door. The Galerie du Centre gives you this perfect buffer — close enough to everything that matters, but tucked away enough that you feel like you’ve got your own little corner of the city. I watched couples wandering back from evening strolls looking completely smitten with how walkable everything is. The Manneken Pis is a three-minute walk (though honestly, you’ll probably stumble across it by accident), and the best chocolate shops are practically neighbors.

The Space Itself

What struck me about BrusselsHomes is how they’ve managed to create something that feels authentically Brussels without trying too hard. The apartment setup means you get more room to breathe than your typical hotel — there’s actually space to unpack and settle in for a few days. The modern touches work well with the building’s character, and you know what? The soundproofing is surprisingly good considering you’re in such a central spot. I expected street noise to be an issue, but the gallery location actually shields you from most of the commotion.

Getting Around and Exploring

The metro connections from here are solid — Central Station is close enough that day trips to Bruges or Antwerp become totally doable. But honestly, you might not want to leave the neighborhood much. I spent hours just wandering the surrounding streets, ducking into cafes and stumbling across those tiny beer bars that locals actually frequent. The Royal Galleries of Saint Hubert are right there too, which means some of the city’s best window shopping is basically on your doorstep. Plus, grocery runs are easy if you want to grab some Belgian cheese and bread for a simple breakfast in your apartment.

  Lovely little apartment with everything you need.
  
  What could be improved: As others have mentioned the entrance/hallway is lacking, however this is of no fault of the owners as it’s communal and in no way ruined the stay.

  Clean and aesthetically pleasing. Very warm welcome by the owner. Helped me carry my luggage up through the stairs. Lots of facilities in the Kitchen. Superb location.

  On the day of our arrival as soon as the cleaning was done, we could go to the accommodation without having to wait until 3 PM. The hosts were very kind, we received fruit, chocolate and even coffee capsules for the coffee maker. The kitchen was very well-equipped and the TV worked as well. Due to its central location, there were restaurants and shops nearby. We had a great time here😊.

  The host was very nice and even was willing to help when it came to public transport and how to reach the airport, super friendly and very welcoming, also always available, the hairdryer got stolen but he made sure to get another one for us and even gifted us some chocolates as a way to say sorry. Definitely will come back again when i will go in Brussels.

  The location was really great. Right in the middle of the tourist area (1 minute walk to the Town Hall), but the accommodation itself was dead quiet (no noise at all). The apartment itself was comfortable and suited me perfectly well, being only 1 person (although it is geared for two people, who would be quite comfortable). The internet worked well. Christian (the host) was very helpful and offered advice on where to eat (avoid tourist traps) and, most importantly, where to buy chocolates.
  
  What could be improved: The passage to the apartment could do with a lick of paint.
