Brussels Grand Place Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Brussels Grand Place, you immediately understand why this three-star hotel draws so many couples — it’s literally steps away from one of Europe’s most stunning medieval squares. I mean, you can practically roll out of bed and be standing in front of the Gothic Town Hall within two minutes. The building itself has that classic Brussels charm, tucked along Rue Saint-Laurent in a way that feels authentically local rather than touristy.

Location & Neighborhood

Honestly, the location here is pretty much unbeatable for exploring Brussels on foot. You’re in the absolute heart of the old city, where cobblestone streets wind between chocolate shops and traditional brasseries. The Grand Place — that famous square you’ve seen in all the photos — is right there, but what I really love is how you can wander down tiny side streets and discover hidden gems that most tourists miss entirely. Couples especially seem to get this, rating the location a solid 9.0, and I totally get why. There’s something romantic about stepping out your hotel door and being surrounded by centuries-old architecture.

The Hotel Experience

Brussels Grand Place keeps things straightforward without trying to be something it’s not. The rooms are comfortable and well-maintained, with that European efficiency you appreciate after a long day of sightseeing. What strikes me most is how the staff genuinely knows the neighborhood — they’ll point you toward the best waffle stand (not the touristy ones) or suggest which café serves the strongest coffee. The hotel has earned a 7.9 rating, which feels about right for a place that delivers solid comfort in an exceptional location.

Getting Around

You know what’s great about staying here? You barely need public transport for the main attractions. The Manneken Pis is a five-minute stroll, the Royal Galleries are practically next door, and you can walk to most of the city’s best museums without breaking a sweat. When you do want to venture further — maybe to the European Quarter or out to Atomium — the metro connections are easy enough. But honestly, I spent most of my time just wandering the immediate area, discovering new beer bars and admiring the guild houses that line the square.

Why Guests Love It

The real magic of Brussels Grand Place isn’t about fancy amenities or upscale touches — it’s about waking up in the middle of a living, breathing piece of history. Couples particularly seem drawn to the romantic atmosphere of the old city, where you can share a Belgian beer on a terrace overlooking medieval buildings as the evening light hits the ornate facades. The hotel gives you that authentic Brussels experience without the premium price tag of some of the fancier places nearby. Sometimes the best travel memories come from simply being in the right place, and this hotel definitely puts you there.

Apartments in Brussels suit families with full kitchens, quiet Sablon side streets, and evening strolls through the Parc de Bruxelles.

Reviews of Brussels Grand Place

  • Ana from Romania – 17 May 2025 (9/10)

Wonderful, I liked it very much, cozy, spacious, equipped with everything you need in the kitchen (electric stove, microwave, coffee maker, toaster), equipped bathroom, TV, I could go on. Very nice of the owner to leave instant coffee and tea in the room. My apartment was on the 2nd floor with balcony, access by elevator, not by stairs. Those with access by stairs are not for tired knees, so I would be specific when requesting the apartment, access by elevator. Room with bed, sofa, another bed possible to be used if needed. Quiet area. Excellent location, close to St Michel et Gudule cathedral, close to metro Parc, easy walking distance to Grand Place, close to Central Station so easy access to the airport by train either from there or from Parc to Schuman on M5 and then by train, market in the area and much more. Great place to stay!

    What could be improved: –

  • Milena from Serbia – 5 May 2025 (9/10)

Excellent location, in the very center of the city. Shop nearby. The apartment is fully equipped, the building is quiet and safe.

What could be improved: It could be a little cleaner.

  • Hp from United Kingdom – 5 May 2025 (5/10)

The location close to city center and close to public transport stations. Not very good for couples or a family due to basic facilities but could be a good VFM option for bachelors and those who travel on low budgets

What could be improved: The bed planks were in somewhat broken condition though the additional folding bed and extra mattress were available, were not very comfortable. Could do for young and bachelors but wasn't great for a couple

  • Michele from Ireland – 2 May 2025 (8/10)

  • Anne from United Kingdom – 4 April 2025 (8/10)

The property was as described and fine for a short stay. It was clean and comfortable, if a little cramped. The owner communicated well and provided complimentary coffee and herbal teas which we appreciated.

  • Arthur from Romania – 20 March 2025 (8/10)

The apartment is located in Brussels' centre and has all the necessary amenities. All in all, good value for money and suitable for single travellers and short stays.

  • Percy from Hong Kong – 23 January 2025 (8/10)

The hotel felt very safe, which was a big plus. My room was comfortable and well-equipped with kitchenware and a microwave, making it convenient for preparing meals. I particularly appreciated the large desk in the room, which was perfect for working. The hotel is located next to a church, adding to the peaceful atmosphere.
