Bedford Hotel Brussels Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to the Bedford Hotel Brussels on Rue du Midi, you immediately get that classic European city hotel vibe — it’s tucked right into the streetscape like it’s always belonged there. This three-star property doesn’t try to be flashy, but honestly, that’s part of its charm. The building has character, and you can tell from the moment you step inside that this place has been welcoming travelers for years. There’s something reassuring about a hotel that knows exactly what it is.
Location That Actually Matters
Here’s the thing about staying in central Brussels — location really is everything, and the Bedford nails it. You’re literally in the heart of the city, which means you can walk to pretty much anywhere worth seeing. I mean, couples consistently rate the location 9.4 out of 10, and after spending time here, I totally get why. The Grand Place is just a few minutes’ walk away, and you’re surrounded by those narrow cobblestone streets that make Brussels feel like a living museum. Plus, you’ll find yourself stumbling across great little cafés and chocolate shops just by wandering around the neighborhood.
The Room Experience
The rooms at Bedford aren’t going to win any design awards, but they’re comfortable and well-maintained — exactly what you want from a solid three-star hotel. Each room feels properly European with decent-sized windows that let in good light during the day. The beds are actually quite comfortable (I was pleasantly surprised), and the bathrooms are clean and functional. You know what I appreciated most? The rooms are quiet despite being right in the city center, which isn’t always a given in Brussels.
Breakfast and Practical Perks
The breakfast setup here is pretty straightforward — they offer both continental and buffet options, which gives you some flexibility depending on whether you’re rushing out to sightsee or taking your time. The buffet has all the basics you’d expect, plus some local touches that make it feel authentically Belgian. If you’re driving (though honestly, you probably don’t need a car in this location), there’s parking available at the hotel, which is actually a big deal in central Brussels where street parking can be a nightmare.
Why Guests Keep Coming Back
What really struck me about the Bedford is how many repeat guests they have — apparently more than most other properties in the area. After staying here, I can see why people return. It’s not about fancy amenities or Instagram-worthy lobbies; it’s about reliability and that perfect location. The staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay work, and there’s something to be said for a hotel that focuses on doing the basics really well rather than trying to be something it’s not. For the price point and location, you’re getting solid value in a city where hotel costs can quickly spiral out of control.

Reviews of Bedford Hotel Brussels
Catherine from France – 4 June 2025 (8/10)
Very fair price for brussels, clean and quiet. Very comfy bed. Nice friendly staff.
Norberto from Canada – 4 June 2025 (8/10)
Clean and very well located. Near all main attractions at the downtown.
What could be improved: Bed, we had the description that it was a queen bed, but we got two single beds set side to side. In some moments we fall in the crack between the mattress.Michel from Belgium – 4 June 2025 (9/10)
The location is amazing and close to the center. There's a small parking garage right next to the hotel for which you only pay €13 a day. Very clean hotel, you constantly encounter a maintenance member cleaning, spacy rooms, great beds and bathrooms include a bath as well. The breakfast is basic but at 6eu per person it was a no-brainer and you definitely can't complain.
Dmitrii from Germany – 3 June 2025 (9/10)
The hotel is lovely and in the centre of town, all the attractions are close by, a shop with drinks and other essentials is in the same building. The room was spacious, windows can be open, air conditioning can be set to a comfortable temperature.
There is a nice rooftop bar, The Eight, with panoramic views and the opportunity to enjoy different drinks and snacks overlooking the city. The breakfast was excellent, finished dishes were replenished very quickly.
What could be improved: Perhaps if staying more than one night, a fridge would not be out of place in the room.
Be careful in the bathroom – it is very slippery, but handrails are provided on two levels.
Now the MOST IMPORTANT thing – if you are travelling to Brussels Midi, I highly recommend getting to and from the hotel by public transport or taxi, but not on foot. We didn't realise that the area around Brussels Midi is a very dangerous place and walked from the hotel to Brussels Midi. Not reaching about 200m to the station I was attacked from behind by two robbers, they tried to steal my rucksack and hurt my finger, tore my jumper and ripped my gold chain from my neck (thin, not expensive), I was with my wife and daughter of 6 years old, who was under terrible stress and cried a lot.
It happened on a bright afternoon on Monday at 2pm. Unfortunately it was only 20 minutes before the train and we did not have time to contact the police. None of the passers-by helped us. It is doubly sad that this happened on my birthday.
Be prudent and do not forget about safety. Then you will be able to enjoy your holiday in the hotel 100%.Ravi from India – 3 June 2025 (9/10)
The hotel location is very central near to most of the attractions and public transport. Its a few minutes walk away from grand palace , meneiken piss, brussels central and around 1 km from brussels midi station. Rooms are spacious , minimal and excellent.staff behaviour is excelelnt and one gentleman in the reception by name Mr . Andrew is too helpful to accommodate for early check in. It was a nice helpful gesture from him.
What could be improved: Nothing to dislike except a small suggestion is to place bottles of liquid soap and shampoo in toom rather than sachetsSiddhartha from United Kingdom – 1 June 2025 (8/10)
Excellent location, just 10 minutes walk from Grand Palace
What could be improved: Not much light in the room, one bulb wasn’t workingTiffany from United Kingdom – 31 May 2025 (8/10)
The location of the hotel was really good, a short walk to the Grand Place. The hotel was very clean, staff friendly and the room was very spacious and the bed was very comfortable
What could be improved: We booked a double room and it was 2 single beds that kept moving apartMariya from Bulgaria – 31 May 2025 (9/10)
Perfect location, friendly staff, comfortable beds. Despite the noise we could hear, we would go back, the overall experience was very good.
What could be improved: You could easily hear the noise from the street and the cleaning crew cleaning the next room as there was a hole in the wall where the air conditioner used to be.Jacqueline from United Kingdom – 31 May 2025 (8/10)
It was located near everything central. Bits a good functional middle range hotel. Clean and quiet.
What could be improved: Nothing really, bland but functionalRobyn from Australia – 31 May 2025 (9/10)
Great location, clean and comfortable.
