Saint Gery – Apartments Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Saint Gery – Apartments on Rue Van Artevelde, you immediately get the sense this isn’t your typical Brussels hotel. The building has that understated Belgian elegance — no flashy signage or marble lobby, just clean lines and a welcoming entrance that hints at the thoughtful design waiting inside. I mean, this is a four-star property that clearly puts substance over show, which honestly feels refreshing in a city where some places try too hard to impress.
Location & Neighborhood
The location is genuinely fantastic, and I can see why couples rate it so highly for romantic getaways. You’re right in the heart of Brussels, just steps from Place Saint-Géry with its buzzing café scene and weekend markets. What I love about this spot is how it puts you within easy walking distance of both the Grand Place (maybe ten minutes on foot) and the trendy Sainte-Catherine district with its excellent seafood restaurants. The neighborhood has this perfect mix of local life and tourist attractions — you’ll see Brussels residents grabbing their morning coffee alongside visitors exploring the city.
The Apartments
These aren’t hotel rooms in the traditional sense, but actual apartments that feel like temporary homes in Brussels. Each unit comes with a proper kitchenette, which is brilliant if you want to pick up some Belgian cheese and bread from the local markets and have breakfast on your own terms. The design strikes that sweet spot between modern comfort and Belgian character — think clean, contemporary furnishings with touches that remind you you’re definitely in Europe. The spaces feel generous too, especially compared to typical Brussels hotel rooms where you’re often playing Tetris with your luggage.
Practical Comforts
What really works here is how everything just functions smoothly without any fuss. The Wi-Fi is reliable (crucial if you’re working remotely or just trying to navigate the city), and having that kitchen setup means you’re not tied to hotel breakfast schedules or restaurant hours. I particularly appreciate how quiet the apartments stay despite being in such a central location — the windows do a good job of keeping out the street noise, so you actually get decent sleep. The housekeeping strikes the right balance too, maintaining that fresh, clean feeling without being intrusive.
Why Guests Love It
There’s something about Saint Gery – Apartments that just clicks, especially for couples looking to experience Brussels like locals rather than tourists passing through. You get the independence of having your own space combined with the security and services of a proper hotel. The location means you can easily walk to most of Brussels’ highlights, but you’re also positioned to discover those smaller neighborhood gems that make the city special. It’s the kind of place where you might find yourself extending your stay just because it feels so natural to be there — and honestly, that’s exactly what you want from a base in Brussels.
Hotels near me in Brussels deliver easy walks to the Grand Place, the Manneken Pis, and the Royal Galleries Saint-Hubert.

Reviews of Saint Gery – Apartments
Eoin from Australia – 29 April 2025 (8/10)
Great location in terms for shops and restaurants. Reasonably close to the train station. The host was very responsive and very, very accomodating.
What could be improved: Just some small things that would get the property to a 5 star review, like a welcome pack on how everything works. Shower was also inconsistent.
Great location in terns of nightlife, however this means there can be a bit of noise from the street.
The stairs were a pain, but we knew this in advance so no surprise there.Lizelle from United Kingdom – 22 October 2024 (9/10)
Great location
Very clean
Good response from owner
What could be improved: Hard to get in the front door with the current lockRadoslaw from Poland – 19 October 2024 (9/10)
First of all – the place looks the same as in the images and the view with windows makes this place so charming.
The location is perfect. I didn't expect to like this area so much.
I came for a couple of days to Brussels in business however thanks to the location I was going out every evening.
The bed is super comfortable – even better than mine at home:)
Very nice shower.
I like the idea of a keyless entrance so I do not have to worry about losing the key.
What could be improved: The place needs refreshing. Some items are damaged and fixing them would make the place perfect.
Anyway even with those disturbing elements I will definitely be back there:)Arnoldo from United States – 4 October 2024 (9/10)
Perfect size, and location for the stay. Couldnt ask for more.
A from Saudi Arabia – 22 September 2024 (7/10)
Central location
Roomy and good natural light
Good coffee machine
What could be improved: Noise stays until 3am from parties down stairs and street.Cepta from United Kingdom – 7 August 2024 (9/10)
We really liked the location, we were very close to everything, minutes from the centre, the metro station, cafes and restaurants. Very close to the main sights and to shopping etc. We also enjoyed the big window/French door in the apartment which we could open to the small balcony when we returned in the evening. Across the road from a very busy bar/cafe it was a great place to sit and soak up the atmosphere. We thought it would be noisy but once the door was closed the apartment was very quiet.
What could be improved: Nothing we didn't like. Note – apartment is on the first floor so up a flight of steps.Lizge from United Kingdom – 24 May 2024 (9/10)
Great stay!! Apartment was very spacious. Location was very close to everywhere we wanted to go. Apartment stocked fairly well. Kitchen utensils all available, we made breakfast at home most days.
Rooms good size – requested babycot for my toddler, and host was able to provide this so super happy.
Two bedrooms and a bathroom with tub, toilet, washing machine & drier upstairs and then also, one toilet downstairs (convenient!).
Free toiletries provided and plenty of spare towels/bedding.
We very much enjoyed our stay in Brussels and the apartment – thank you!
What could be improved: We were on 3rd floor so lots of steps to get upstairs – unfortunately no lift, but it wasn’t a problem as we would spend most of our time out and about exploring the city.Kayher88 from United Kingdom – 14 May 2024 (8/10)
Great location, very close to the centre and all the tourist attractions. Lovely apartment with lots of amenities
What could be improved: The shower wasn't great, you couldn't stand up in the shower or bath.Karen from United Kingdom – 16 March 2024 (8/10)
Spacious, light, clean and comfortable. Close to bars, cafes and restaurants. Short walk to the Grande Place.
What could be improved: The new TV didn't work and the shower head was broken.Lavanya from United Kingdom – 19 December 2023 (9/10)
The room was great – clean, spacious and well equipped with a great view’. The location is very good – in the city centre with easy access to transport links. The apartment manager was very prompt in responding to messages on WhatsApp and very helpful too.
What could be improved: There were some issues with electricity tripping impacting access and WiFi. However, the apartment manager had these resolved promptly.
It would be good to have hand wash liquid soap in the bathroom and kitchenette.
The room was on the second floor and accessed via a not too wide staircase. Something to consider if you have a lot of luggage or require an ‘accessibility friendly’ place.
