Résidence Marianne 2 Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Résidence Marianne 2 on Rue de la Violette, you’ll notice it’s tucked into one of those classic Brussels side streets that feels authentically local. The building itself has that understated European charm — nothing flashy, but solid and welcoming. I mean, you’re on the second floor of what’s essentially a residential building, so don’t expect a grand lobby with marble floors. It’s more like staying at a well-appointed apartment in the heart of the city, which honestly feels more genuine than some sterile hotel chains.

Location Magic

Here’s what really gets me excited about this place — the location is absolutely unbeatable. You’re literally in the center of Brussels, and I’m not exaggerating when I say you can walk to pretty much everything that matters. The Grand Place is maybe a three-minute stroll, which means you can pop out for morning coffee at one of those little cafés and be back before you’ve even fully woken up. The Manneken Pis (yeah, that little statue everyone talks about) is right around the corner, and you know what? Being this central means you can actually experience Brussels like a local instead of feeling like a tourist shuttling between distant attractions.

The Space Itself

The room setup is what you’d expect from a three-star residence — clean, functional, and surprisingly spacious for Brussels standards. There’s a practical kitchen area that actually works if you want to grab groceries from the nearby markets and make your own breakfast (the local bakeries are incredible, by the way). The furnishing feels contemporary without being cold, and honestly, after spending days wandering around the city, you’ll appreciate having a proper space to spread out and relax.

Practical Perks

What I really appreciated was how everything just works smoothly here. The Wi-Fi is reliable — crucial when you’re trying to navigate a new city or stay connected with folks back home. The building is quiet enough that you’ll actually get decent sleep, which isn’t always guaranteed in city center locations. Plus, there’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that feels more residential than touristy. You’ll find yourself chatting with locals in the hallways or getting genuine recommendations from the staff who actually know the neighborhood.

Why Guests Love It

Couples seem to really connect with this place, and I can see why — there’s something romantic about having your own little Brussels hideaway in the historic center. You can walk to dinner at one of those cozy Belgian restaurant spots, then stroll back through the beautifully lit medieval streets without worrying about catching the last metro or expensive taxi rides. The value proposition is solid too — you’re getting prime real estate location at accessible prices. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re living in Brussels rather than just visiting, and that makes all the difference in creating actual memories instead of just checking boxes on a tourist itinerary.

The concierge service in Brussels can arrange exclusive chocolate factory tours, secure reservations at Michelin-starred restaurants, and organize personalized visits to the European Parliament and UNESCO World Heritage Grand Place.

Fanatic location, a few minutes walk to all location . Supermarkets close by , very clean

  • Annalisa from Netherlands – 25 May 2025 (9/10)

Great location, a few minutes from central station. The apartment was much bigger than expected, with a large living room, and an additional bedroom. Check in was straightforward. The kitchen was well equipped for a short stay, I was happy to find tea and coffee.

What could be improved: The shower temperature was difficult to regulate, going from burning hot to ice cold.

  • Perrine from Switzerland – 12 May 2025 (7/10)

    Great place

What could be improved: One bed is not in a property bedroom but in the living room. You can see it in the pictures

  • Konstantin from Netherlands – 13 April 2025 (9/10)

What could be improved: Parkeren te ver

  • Rose from Philippines – 3 April 2025 (8/10)

We stayed at this apartment and overall, it was an okay experience. However, there were a couple of things that I feel need improvement.

Firstly, there was no Wi-Fi available, which was a bit inconvenient for me as I had expected to have access to the internet during the stay. Additionally, the communication with the host could have been better. Responses to messages took longer than expected, which caused some frustration when I had questions or needed assistance.

  • Faur from Romania – 29 March 2025 (7/10)

The accommodation is quite big, very nice and central location, the beds were comfortable and it was clean.
On the other hand, by my lack of sleep, I couldn't find the exact number of the accommodation so I called the property, a lady said she will send me a picture so I can find the exact location but she wasn't very friendly, it seemed like I was disturbing her and this was at 15 not midnight. There was only one roll of toilet paper and the water in the shower doesn't have a lot of pressure, also it shuffles really quick and weird from hot to cold. Also, I wrote them a message one day before we left, asking them where to leave the key and if there is a trash to maybe throw it ourselves but never got a reply. I don't expect a red carpet from the hosts but I did expect a little friendliness since these are hospitality services.

  • Jamie from United States – 27 March 2025 (8/10)

Amazing location & unit was very clean. They let us leave our bags after checkout while we did a tour. Very kind!!

What could be improved: Shower head in bathroom was broken & flow was very slow, bathroom sink faucet was loose. Sounds from upstairs is very loud.

  • Carolina from Portugal – 14 December 2024 (8/10)

    The location

What could be improved: The noise in the street

  • Gartshore from United Kingdom – 25 September 2024 (4/10)

Great location close to the Grand Place.

What could be improved: The apartment is not as described. There are not two separate bedrooms. One bed is in the living room and you go through that room to get to the bedroom. This bedroom has no windows so no ventilation if the door is closed, but no privacy for anyone if the door is open. We would not have booked if that had been made obvious. Also in the bedroom there are no sockets by the bed so no light and no phone charger within reach. The kitchen is basic but adequate.
