Hotel Les Ecrins Overview

You know what, when I first walked into Hotel Les Ecrins in Brussels, I was genuinely surprised. It’s located on Rue du Rouleau, just a stone’s throw from the bustling city center. Honestly, for a three-star hotel, it’s got a really cozy vibe, and the rating of 8 out of 10 is pretty on point. The staff at check-in were friendly and helpful, which set a nice tone for the stay.

The rooms are simple but comfortable, with a touch of local charm. I mean, the walls are adorned with artwork that feels like a nod to Brussels’ rich history. The bed was surprisingly plush, and the pillows were just the right firmness for a good night’s sleep. The only downside was the street noise, but you know, that’s city life for you. It’s not too bad if you’re a deep sleeper or you use earplugs.

What makes Hotel Les Ecrins special, though, is its proximity to local gems. Just around the corner on Rue du Marché aux Poulets, there’s this amazing bakery that opens at the crack of dawn. The smell of fresh bread in the morning is something else – it’s worth the slight detour. And if you’re a fan of art, the hotel is just a short walk from the Magritte Museum, which houses some of the city’s finest surrealist works.

So, why should you care about Hotel Les Ecrins? Well, if you’re looking for a budget-friendly stay in Brussels that doesn’t skimp on comfort or charm, this is your spot. It’s not the Ritz, but it’s got a homey feel that’s hard to beat. Plus, with the city’s best attractions within walking distance, you can’t go wrong. It’s a solid choice for travelers who want to experience Brussels like a local, without breaking the bank.

    * Good location: around 15 – 20 mins walk from the central station, plenty of good eateries nearby
    * Considering that the hotel scene in the city can be expensive, I do think that this hotel provides an excellent value
    * Easy check in procedure with access codes even when reception isn’t available (only available during business hours). During checkout, the guy at the reception was really pleasant – letting me store my bags for a couple hours after checkout

The room was very clean, and had everything you would need to have a good time. The standard of the room was very good. I especially liked the AC and the bathtub. The location was perfect and very near restaurants, metro, supermarkets and Belgium centrum.

Location was great. There are good restaurants and supermarkets around. They cleaned the room and left clean towels, cups and glasses every day. The coffee machine was very useful, they also left coffee capsules every day.
