Heart of Brussels Escape, Steps from Bourse Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Heart of Brussels Escape, Steps from Bourse, you immediately get that feeling you’re somewhere special — and I mean that in the best way possible. The building itself has this classic Brussels charm, tucked along Rue Jules Van Praet in a way that feels both central and surprisingly quiet. You know how some four-star places try too hard? This one doesn’t need to. There’s an understated elegance here that couples seem to absolutely love (honestly, I can see why the rating for romantic getaways is through the roof).

The Neighborhood Advantage

Here’s what I really appreciate about this spot — you’re literally steps from the Bourse, which means you’re in the thick of things without the tourist chaos. I’ve stayed in places right on Grand Place before, and while it’s stunning, the crowds can be overwhelming. This location gives you easy access to everything — the Royal Galleries are a two-minute walk, you can reach Manneken Pis without breaking a sweat, and there are these fantastic little cafés tucked into side streets that most visitors never discover. The metro connections are solid too, so getting around the city is actually pretty effortless.

The Rooms

The accommodations here strike that perfect balance between modern comfort and Belgian character. My room had these lovely high ceilings and windows that actually opened (you’d be surprised how rare that is these days). The bathroom was well-designed — not huge, but thoughtfully laid out with good water pressure, which matters more than people think. What impressed me most was the attention to detail: proper blackout curtains, USB charging ports where you actually need them, and air conditioning that works quietly. The décor leans contemporary but doesn’t feel sterile — there’s warmth here that makes you want to linger.

Daily Rhythms

Mornings here feel particularly special, partly because you can step outside and grab fresh pastries from the local bakeries before the day really gets going. The staff genuinely knows the neighborhood — they pointed me toward this incredible chocolate shop that I never would have found otherwise. Evenings are lovely too; the area transforms into something more intimate as locals head to the nearby brasseries. You’re close enough to the nightlife if you want it, but the street itself stays peaceful enough for a good night’s sleep.

Why Guests Love It

That 9.5 rating isn’t just numbers — it reflects something real about how this place makes people feel. Couples keep coming back because it offers that rare combination of romance and practicality. You can walk to dinner at one of Brussels’ legendary restaurants, explore the city’s incredible beer culture, or simply wander the cobblestone streets hand in hand. The Heart of Brussels Escape delivers exactly what its name promises: a genuine escape that puts you right in the heart of one of Europe’s most charming capitals, without any of the usual compromises.

Reviews of Heart of Brussels Escape, Steps from Bourse

  • Cristian from Romania – 27 May 2025 (10/10)

It is a clean, cozy, well-maintained, neat, warm, clean apartment, equipped with pretty much everything you need for a 2-3 day city-break in Brussels. It is located in the center of the old city, close to the Bourse. On the ground floor there are many restaurants and bars. It would seem that the location comes with the usual noise, but it doesn't – once the windows are closed, the noise from outside completely disappears. Nearby you have a subway station 4 minutes away and a bus stop about 7 minutes away, which is very convenient. There are 2 Carrefour stores nearby (aprox 8 minutes walk).
The host is extremely welcoming and nice, helpful and attentive to the wishes and needs of the guests. Communication is extremely easy with quick feedback. He was very careful not to miss anything and gave us all the information we needed.
The only inconvenience for older people or people with health problems is that the apartment is on the 4th floor of an old building and has no elevator, so it is a small effort. But we knew that in advance from the host and it wasn't a problem for us.
I highly recommend. I would like to come back soon!

  • Marcus from United Kingdom – 24 May 2025 (10/10)

Great location from which to get anywhere in Brussels and for local things to do. Nice size for a solo traveller. Excellent facilities – everything that I needed. Host communicated very well with clear instructions and was always responsive to any questions.

What could be improved: The advertised narrow staircase to the 5th floor is a challenge with luggage. The apartment is fitted with fans and opening roof windows, but can feel hot.

  • Jpoole from United Kingdom – 23 May 2025 (10/10)

Central location, comfortable and plenty of great features. Owner gave excellent instructions so everything was well explained. Queries were speedily answered.

  • Ying from United States – 21 May 2025 (10/10)

Very close to center area. Only 5 minutes walk to grand place. Street was noisy at night, but you don’t hear anything in bedroom.
Bed was comfortable. Room is clean. There are fridge, washer, oven, cooking equipment etc.
Antonio is very thorough with all details for checking in and out.

What could be improved: The 5th floor is really high than regular 5th floor. Climbing the stairs is not an easy task especially when you carry a luggage in a narrow staircase.

  • Alyssa from United States – 7 May 2025 (8/10)

In the very heart of Brussels. It was clean and had everything you could ever need. Nice place and spacious for a small place!

What could be improved: We unfortunately had very noisy people above us and had little sleep during our entire stay. Being below anyone in an apt is just the risk you take I guess. Also being on one of the top floors, it’s a ton of narrow stairs so be mindful of baggage. We only had carryons but we couldn’t imagine packing checked luggage up and down those stairs!

  • Carl from Netherlands – 2 May 2025 (10/10)

Perfect location and excellent communication from Antonio. Fresh milk, tea & coffee and biscuits supplied was a nice added extra. Would definitely stay again 👌🏻

What could be improved: Everything was excellent

  • David from Australia – 10 April 2025 (9/10)

Great location and immaculately clean, modern apartment. The check in was smooth and went as planned.

What could be improved: The apartment was on the 4th floor and no lift, so if you don’t do stairs well you will have trouble. Antonio fully warned of this up front and it wasn’t an issue for us.

  • Marcus from Austria – 30 March 2025 (10/10)

Outstanding experience. Great location, beautifully decorated and equipped with plenty of warm details. Highly recommended!

  • Mark from United Kingdom – 21 March 2025 (10/10)

Great apartment, very comfortable and well equipped. Location is great, very central. Antonio is an excellent host, very helpful and excellent communication. All in all I had a great stay, highly recommended!

What could be improved: The only very small downside is the stairs up to the 4th floor, no lift. But with a small suitcase, it is ok.

  • Stevie from Hungary – 6 February 2025 (10/10)

A fantastic experience in downtown Brussels, the bestest location (around pl. St Géry). A superbly furnished, neat and cozy little apartmnet that is kept and maintained with affection. Coffee and biscuits and milk for the breakfast were ready in the fridge. The host was available (on Booking chat) later in one evening, and managed to help. I particularly liked the ambience and the lights of the apartment. I would not mind moving in here for ever 🙂

What could be improved: Yes, it's on the 5th floor. Yes, there are only sky windows. Yes, the bathroom is a bit tight. But that's about it all.
