EU B&B Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to EU B&B on Rue John Waterloo Wilson, you’ll notice it’s tucked into one of those classic Brussels townhouse blocks that somehow feels both residential and central at the same time. The entrance is understated — no flashy signage or marble lobby — but that’s actually part of its charm. This three-star bed and breakfast operates more like staying at a well-connected friend’s place than a traditional hotel, and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it work so well for travelers who want to experience Brussels like a local.

Location & Neighborhood

The location is genuinely excellent, and I mean that — recent guests rated it 9.0, which is pretty remarkable for any Brussels accommodation. You’re in the heart of the city but on a quieter side street, so you get the best of both worlds. The European Quarter is right there (hence the name, I assume), which means if you’re here on business, you can literally walk to most of the EU institutions. But even if you’re just sightseeing, you’re within easy walking distance of the Royal Quarter and about fifteen minutes from Grand Place. Couples seem to particularly love this spot — they’ve rated it 8.6 for romantic getaways, probably because you can stroll to great restaurants without dealing with the tourist crowds on the main drags.

The Rooms

Here’s where EU B&B really shines — the beds are genuinely comfortable, not just “hotel comfortable.” Guests consistently rave about getting a proper night’s sleep here, which honestly can make or break a city break. The rooms themselves are clean and well-maintained, though don’t expect anything too fancy — this is a three-star place that knows what it does well and sticks to it. You’ll find everything you need without unnecessary frills, and the whole setup feels more personal than your typical chain hotel experience.

The Experience

What I appreciate about this place is how it strikes that perfect balance between being professional and feeling authentic. The staff actually seem to know Brussels well — they’re not just reading from a script when you ask for recommendations. Since it’s a B&B, breakfast is included, and while I wouldn’t call it elaborate, it’s a solid start to the day with local touches that remind you where you are. The whole atmosphere is relaxed but efficient, which works particularly well if you’re planning to spend most of your time exploring the city rather than hanging around the hotel.

Why Guests Love It

The 8.4 rating really tells the story here — this isn’t a place that tries to be everything to everyone, but what it does, it does really well. You’re paying for an excellent location, comfortable accommodations, and that slightly more personal touch that comes with staying at a well-run B&B rather than a large hotel. If you want to wake up in the center of Brussels, get a good night’s sleep, and have knowledgeable locals to point you in the right direction, EU B&B delivers on all counts without any pretense.

Reviews of EU B&B

  • Ollivier from Mexico – 26 April 2025 (9/10)

The decoración, feel, commodity and coffee.

What could be improved: Place and button to call in was not clear in case of no answer.

  • Catherine from United Kingdom – 13 March 2025 (9/10)

Excellent location for my meeting. A 10 min walk to a nice bakery. And several restaurants at a similar distance.
The room was big and the bed was comfortable. Nice to be able to make a cup of (herbal) tea in the shared kitchen.

  • Bobbi from Australia – 21 August 2024 (8/10)

My room was lovely, with lovely high ceilings, wooden floors, comfortable bed, & one of the best showers ever, & mostly quiet, except one night when there was a party going on above me. I really liked my room (ground floor to the back), big windows, loads of space.
I had a nice welcome, the shared kitchen was great with tea coffee & fruit available, & a shared fridge.
I was staying in Brussels mainly to work from my room, & it was ok for that.

What could be improved: The location. I went everywhere on foot & the whole area was I thought pretty grotty. As a single woman I didn't feel unsafe but if I had known I would have preferred a place in a more attractive area with more choices. It just seemed quite poor & poorly cared for in the vicinity. I would not stay there again.

  • Alessia from Belgium – 6 June 2024 (8/10)

What could be improved: Perhaps a bottle of water in the room.

  • Travel from Bulgaria – 10 May 2024 (9/10)

The apartment is spacious and very well furnished with clean sheets and comfortable beds. The family who owns the place is very sweet and friendly. The communication for picking the keys up was very easy. Big bathroom and shower tab is available. Very close to the European Parliament only walking distance, but you have to get a bus to get to the center part of the city. The bus station is just outside of the building. The kitchen which is shared outside of the apartment has everything you need to prepare a meal even a coffee automat for fresh coffee. A small terrace garden was available just outside from our room.

  • Martine from France – 24 March 2024 (9/10)

Sara is very welcoming. The location is close to public transport ( bus, metro) with a large option in terms of restaurants. Despite this, the street is quiet at night. The bed is very confortable.

What could be improved: Some guests do not lock the front door of the residence, which may not be that safe and leads them to make noise when shutting the door.

  • Fiona from Ireland – 8 March 2024 (9/10)

    Old-fashioned architecture

    What could be improved: N/a

  • Happy from Luxembourg – 26 February 2024 (9/10)

excellent location for anyone visiting the Berlaymont / European quartier. Spotlessly clean, and very prompt, friendly and helpful contact with the owners. Very comfortable bed, in a recently renovated building. Access to fridge in the shared kitchen, with milk, tea and coffee provided was much appreciated.

What could be improved: All went really well – nothing negative to report.

  • Kateryna from Italy – 12 February 2024 (9/10)

the bed was amazing, one of the best beds I've ever slept on

  • Sebastian from Germany – 7 December 2023 (9/10)

Very convenient if you need to be at the EU quarter
