Honestly, I’ve stayed in a lot of places that claim to have great locations, but this one actually delivers. You’re literally steps away from the Grand Place — I’m talking a two-minute walk — and all those gorgeous guild houses that make Brussels famous. The Manneken Pis is practically around the corner, though between you and me, it’s smaller than you’d expect. What I really loved was being able to duck into those amazing chocolate shops and beer cafes without having to trek across the city. Couples seem to get this location thing too, apparently rating it 9.6, which honestly doesn’t surprise me at all.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was clean and comfortable — nothing groundbreaking, but everything you need for a solid night’s sleep in Brussels. The beds are decent quality, and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped. I mean, this isn’t a premium suite or anything, but the basics are well covered. The bathroom was compact but functional, with good water pressure (always a win in older European buildings). What I appreciated most was how quiet it stayed at night, even with all the activity happening just outside the front door.

Practical Details

Look, this is a guest house, so don’t expect a full-service hotel experience with room service and fancy amenities. But what they do offer works well — the staff is helpful when you need them, and check-in was straightforward. The building has that slightly old-school European feel, which means narrow stairs and no elevator, so pack light if you can. WiFi worked fine for staying connected, and there are plenty of cafes and restaurants within a stone’s throw if you want to grab breakfast or dinner. Actually, that’s part of the charm — you’re forced to explore the neighborhood instead of hiding in your hotel.

  The stairs were narrow and winding. The stairwell lights clicked off since I had to walk slowly up the stairs. The room was to hot since it was on the top floor. I could not get my luggage up to my room because of the narrow stairs and the lights shutting off since I was walking so slow.

  There was no breakfast included. So I cannot rate that. The location of the apartment in relation to where I had to go was fantastic. I had meetings at the Glass Cube, which was around 200 m from the apartment and less than 2 minutes walk. The apartment is beautifully done, it has a touch of care. I had meetings the whole day and had left the room early 8 am. I had left my suitecase inside, and when I got back, I changed from my suit in the corridor to put in comfortable clothes. I am grateful to the owner for letting me do that.
  
  What could be improved: A significant problem was 4th floor with a narrow spiral staircase and no elevator. It was extremely difficult to take my small bag to the top of the apartment. But you can see that the carpets, kitchen, etc need some cleaning, it is not bad but its certainly not in line with the price of the apartment. The kitchen area could be cleaner.

  We kwamen voor een concert in La Madeleine.
  En het appartement lag er echt naast. Ook perfect in het centrum! Prima bed.
  
  What could be improved: Het waren veel trappen. Dit staat niet in de omschrijving en kan mij voorstellen dat dat met mensen die slecht ter been zijn of slechte lichamelijke conditie of beperking dat dat niet te doen is..

  What could be improved: Instructions to get in should be accessible – I arrived and could not find information, called and no one picked up, and only when I went to message the owner did I see the message with the instructions, which were not emailed in the confirmation.
