First Impressions

When I first climbed up to the first floor of 22 Rue de l’Enseignement, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from Cosy flat – EU district – Center – 4 persons. The building itself is classic Brussels — you know, that beautiful old European architecture that makes you feel like you’re stepping into a postcard. What struck me immediately was how this four-star apartment manages to feel both intimate and spacious at the same time, which honestly isn’t easy to pull off in the city center.

Location & Neighborhood

I mean, the location is pretty much unbeatable — there’s a reason couples are rating it 9.8 for romantic getaways. You’re literally in the heart of everything, with the EU district right there (hence the name), but you’re also walking distance to all the classic Brussels spots. I found myself wandering to the Grand Place in about ten minutes, and the Royal Quarter is practically next door. What I really appreciated was how quiet Rue de l’Enseignement actually is, despite being so central. You get all the benefits of being downtown without the constant street noise that usually comes with it.

The Space

The room setup works really well for four people — I’ve stayed in places that claim to sleep four but leave someone on a terrible pullout couch. Not here. The space feels thoughtfully designed, with enough privacy that you’re not constantly bumping into each other. The kitchen is actually functional too, which was a pleasant surprise. I made coffee every morning and even managed a simple dinner one night, though honestly, with all the amazing restaurants nearby, I didn’t cook much. The whole place has this warm, lived-in feeling that makes you want to settle in for more than just a night or two.

Daily Life

What I loved most was how easy everything became once I got settled. There’s a little Delhaize supermarket just around the corner for basics, and the metro connections are fantastic — you can get anywhere in Brussels without much hassle. The building has that old-world charm where you actually get to know your temporary neighbors a bit, which added to the whole experience. I also discovered this tiny café about two blocks away that serves the best pain au chocolat I had during my entire stay, but that’s the kind of thing you only find when you’re staying in a real neighborhood rather than a tourist bubble.

Why Guests Love It

After spending several days here, I totally understand why this place scores so well with visitors. It’s that perfect balance of being central enough to walk everywhere important, but residential enough to feel like you’re actually living in Brussels rather than just passing through. The 9.2 location score makes complete sense — you’re getting the best of both the political heart of Europe and the cultural soul of Belgium. For couples especially, there’s something really special about having your own little Brussels base where you can duck back for an afternoon rest or a glass of wine before heading out for dinner.

  The location is excellent. Everything you need is nearby: coffee, breakfast, grocery shops, and everything else you might need. All the city's attractions are also very close. The Apartment is suitable for long or short stays and has everything you need.

  We are a family with 2 kids and we stayed 5 days in this apartment. We had everything we need it. Confortable beds, heating was working properly, hot water, kitchen with everything needed (fridge, microwave, cooking facilities). Right accros the street is a market with everything you might need opened from 9 AM till 10 PM, another Carrefour express is 5 minutes walk, metro station Park and public transportation 5 minutes walk, coffee shops and pizza delivery are right there. Grand Place is 10 minutes walk. Cirque Royal is 160 meters away. The owner responds instantly, key is easy to acces. Location was perfect for us (money wise and accesibility).

  There was enough space for four people and the apartment was well equiped. It is located in a walking distance from the city center. The access instructions were clear and the owner was always available for any question.

  The location is very good, the person in charge was very helpful and responded quickly to questions. Spacious apartment with everything we needed during our stay.
  
  What could be improved: There was a lot of noise from outside, especially on Saturday, it was very difficult to sleep because of the bars on the street. We had problems with the internet, which the host tried to solve, but it didn't work out well. The bathroom in particular was a negative point, as it had no ventilation at all and had a bad smell of damp.
