Coeur Sablon Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Coeur Sablon on Rue Coppens, you immediately get that feeling you’ve found something special. This four-star boutique hotel sits right in the heart of Brussels‘ most charming neighborhood, and honestly, the location alone makes it worth considering. The building has that classic Brussels elegance — you know, the kind where you can tell it’s been carefully restored but still feels authentically Belgian. There’s no flashy signage or over-the-top entrance, just understated sophistication that fits perfectly with the Sablon district’s refined character.
The Sablon Advantage
Here’s what I love about staying in this area — you’re literally surrounded by antique shops, art galleries, and some of Brussels’ best chocolate boutiques. Place du Grand Sablon is just steps away, which means weekend antique markets and that gorgeous Notre-Dame du Sablon church are practically on your doorstep. The Royal Museums are a five-minute walk, and you can easily stroll to the Grand Place in about ten minutes. What’s really nice is that couples seem to absolutely love this spot — they consistently rate the location 9.3 out of 10, and I can see why. It’s romantic without being touristy, if that makes sense.
The Room Experience
The accommodations here strike that perfect balance between modern comfort and Belgian charm. Each room feels thoughtfully designed rather than cookie-cutter corporate, with details that show someone actually cared about the guest experience. The windows are generous — important in a city where natural light can be precious — and the soundproofing is surprisingly good considering you’re in the city center. I mean, you’ll still hear some street life, but it’s more ambient Brussels sounds than disruptive noise. The bathrooms are well-appointed without being unnecessarily fancy, which I actually appreciate.
Neighborhood Dining
One thing that really sets this location apart is the dining scene right outside your door. You don’t need to venture far to find everything from traditional Belgian brasseries to innovative restaurant concepts. The Sablon area has this wonderful mix of locals and visitors, so you get authentic spots alongside places that cater to international tastes. There’s a fantastic bakery around the corner that does proper Belgian pastries — the kind locals actually buy, not just tourist versions. And honestly, being able to grab fresh bread and coffee within a two-minute walk makes mornings so much better.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps people coming back to Coeur Sablon is that rare combination of prime location and genuine character. You’re staying in one of Brussels’ most desirable neighborhoods without paying premium hotel prices, and the property feels more like a well-kept secret than a typical chain hotel. The staff seems to understand that travelers want local insights, not just directions to obvious tourist spots. Plus, there’s something to be said for parking availability in this part of the city — it’s not always easy to find, but the hotel can help arrange it. The 8.3 rating reflects what you actually experience: solid comfort, excellent location, and that intangible feeling that you’ve chosen well.

What could be improved: Sink was partially blocked. No coffee for coffee machine.

It was clean and roomy.
What could be improved: The profile made it appear the sauna was included, but it wasn't.Paul from United Kingdom – 29 July 2024 (8/10)

Location in Sablon was perfect. Hosts were onsite first day; so nice to meet them. Really enjoyed the first floor accommodations which allowed us kitchen access for simple meal.
What could be improved: We needed to remind ourselves that many accommodations in Europe don’t have air conditioning. We were glad for relatively cool weather. Steps to third floor could be challenging for some people.Leila from United Kingdom – 1 May 2024 (9/10)
The property was very nicely located and was also well proportioned and provided a comfortable stay. we had a fantastic stay and have already recommended it to family who are looking to visit to Brussels soon.
What could be improved: My only concern was that details in how to access the property were emailed to us on the date of arrival. We don’t access emails when we travel so we didn’t receive those details beforehand. My view is that the owners should consider sending those details more in advance if possible or if not to send them via Text as well as email to ensure people get it.Sebastian from United States – 23 April 2024 (9/10)
I almost booked a hotel in a not so nice area and am glad I switched to this even though I don't usually go for the "airbnb style" properties. This was in a really cool area of Brussels right around the corner from several nice cafes and restaurants. It was a comfortable and spacious apartment in a multi-story house, and the hosts were very responsive. I happened to get a rainy afternoon during my stay, and I had a pleasant time sitting in the living room with my laptop.

Fabulous location and very quiet despite being so close to the city centre. Easy to get to from Metro Louise stop. Room was lovely (at the top of the building) – all clean and comfortable. Great shower, comfy bed and sofa. Easy self-check-in (codes sent the day before). Small supermarket and bakery around the corner. Some lovely restaurants nearby (we had a delicious meal at Lola's). Easy walk to Le Grand Place etc. Would genuinely and happily stay here again.
What could be improved: Not much to complain about to be fair. No teaspoon with the kettle facilities which meant we struggled to make our hot chocolates with the sachets we had brought with us – something this small does make a difference though! Also, the stairs are steep which may be a challenge for older / disabled visitors. There was a bit of dodgy plumbing with the sink tap which meant it dripped for a while after being turned off. Oh, and it is in the eaves of the building which means any rain was loud – fine for me because I enjoy it but others may not. Not sure how warm it would get up there in the summer months.Philip from United Kingdom – 9 April 2024 (9/10)
Fantasic location. Located in a quiet street but only a15min walk to the Grote Markt.
What could be improved: We only found the shared kitchen-diner on the second day! We thought that the door on the ground floor was another apartment.David from Canada – 4 April 2024 (9/10)
Great penthouse apartment, bright, spacious.
What could be improved: Not an issue for me, but three flights of stairs could be problematic for some or if you had lots of luggage
