Centerstay Brussels Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Centerstay Brussels feels a bit like discovering a hidden gem tucked away in the city’s bustling center. The property sits on the fifth floor of Galerie du Centre, which honestly took me a moment to figure out — but once you’re there, you realize why this three-star spot has such devoted fans. It’s not flashy or over-the-top, just genuinely comfortable with that European efficiency I’ve come to appreciate.

Location & Neighborhood

You know what really struck me about staying here? You’re literally in the heart of Brussels without paying those premium prices you’d expect. I mean, step outside and you’re surrounded by the kind of authentic Belgian atmosphere that makes you feel like a local rather than just another tourist. The Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert are practically next door, and honestly, I found myself wandering through those gorgeous glass-covered arcades multiple times just because I could. Couples seem to get this location thing — they’ve rated it 9.2, and after spending time here, I totally understand why.

The Room Experience

The room itself surprised me in the best way possible. Sure, it’s not enormous — this is central Brussels, after all — but everything feels thoughtfully designed. The windows actually open (which you don’t always get in city hotels), and there’s something satisfying about the morning light filtering in while you can hear the gentle buzz of the city waking up below. The bed was genuinely comfortable, and I appreciated the little touches like proper reading lights and enough outlets for all my devices.

Daily Life at the Hotel

What I really liked was how the place operates — it’s got that apartment-style independence but with hotel services when you need them. The staff knows the neighborhood inside and out, which came in handy when I was looking for that perfect spot for Belgian waffles (turns out there’s a place locals actually go to, not just the tourist traps). Parking in this part of Brussels can be tricky, but they’ll point you toward the best options nearby, and honestly, you probably won’t need a car much once you’re settled in.

Why Guests Love It

After staying here, I get why people keep coming back to Centerstay Brussels. It’s that sweet spot where you’re genuinely in the thick of things without feeling overwhelmed or overcharged. The location score of 9.2 isn’t just a number — it reflects how you can walk to the Grand Place in minutes, stumble upon amazing chocolate shops, and still retreat to a quiet, comfortable space when you need to recharge. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’re actually experiencing Brussels rather than just visiting it, and sometimes that’s exactly what you’re looking for in a city break.

Reviews of Centerstay Brussels

  • Fedelma from United Kingdom – 30 January 2025 (8/10)

Very central location. Property very secure. Beautiful view of The Grand Place from our room which was lit up at night.

What could be improved: Hard to find as inside a shopping centre.

  • Kenneth from Malta – 15 December 2024 (8/10)

Location is super. Electric kettle and mugs. Comfortable beds although one of the double bed rooms the bed was small.

What could be improved: The temperament of the person who came to explain the check in procedure to us. We arrived exactly at 22:00 and since we advised that we might arrive after such closing time depending on flight, he decided to be there between 23.00 and midnight. Having said that, he was there within 20 minutes from our call but the way he scolded us was far from acceptable.

  • Lucy from United Kingdom – 26 October 2024 (8/10)

The location in terms of tourist area was absolutely fantastic. The Grand Place, the Mannequin Pis and other well known sights were within walking distance along with many, many restaurants and shops. The Ecuyer car park is perfect to park as apartment is in a pedestrian area. This is cheaper to book online.

What could be improved: The location felt a little unsafe at first. It's in a shopping arcade, mostly nail places. It was a shock to see an "over 18" shop next to the keypad for the entrance. But once we got used to it, it was fine. Also there are steps immediately in from the entrance door to get up to the lifts. Carrying suitcases up was a little tricky.

  • Gergana from Bulgaria – 17 September 2024 (8/10)

    Very clean bed and bathroom

What could be improved: Some walls are thin and you can hear the next room’s occupants talking, also their alarms at 5 in the morning

  • Danielle from United States – 7 August 2024 (7/10)

    Location

What could be improved: Bathroom is tiny. No elevator so had to carry heavy luggage up the tiny spiral staircase

  • Jc from Australia – 17 June 2024 (8/10)

    Location location

What could be improved: Shower is terrible

  • Aisha from United Kingdom – 3 June 2024 (7/10)

It was located in the center. 7 minutes walk from the metro/train station and 7 minutes walk from the tram

What could be improved: It was so noisy. It is not recommended to light sleepers and quiet person. All throughout the day, some of the guest cannot simply follow the rules, they kept on banging the door when opening/closing even though there is a sign post to be quiet. Guests will just talk in the corridor with friends, sing along with very loud music, and even talk to their phone in the hallway even at midnight. It’s uncontrollable because there is no reception but I hope before they accept guest, they should orient them about the rules ‘coz some people are just SO RUDE and no considerations at all. Good thing the staff responded right away with simple complaint.

  • Amela from Albania – 22 May 2024 (8/10)

Very central, staff was very helpful, the room was good but a small closet could help.

What could be improved: Too noisy, people drinking and coming inside and outside in different times of the night. We barely got some sleep.

  • Olivia from Australia – 20 May 2024 (8/10)

Super convenient to city centre and tidy and comfy

What could be improved: No tv or kitchen facilities
