Brussels Downtown Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Brussels Downtown, you immediately get that feeling of being somewhere that takes itself seriously without being stuffy about it. The four-star property sits on Rue Victor Allard in Uccle, and honestly, the neighborhood alone makes this place worth considering. It’s one of those areas where you’ll see locals walking their dogs and grabbing coffee — not touristy at all, which I actually love. The lobby has this understated elegance that feels authentically Belgian rather than trying too hard to impress international visitors.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s what I mean about the location being special — Uccle is where Brussels locals actually want to live. You’re about 15 minutes from the city center by tram, but you’re staying in what feels like a proper residential area with tree-lined streets and that quiet European charm you can’t fake. There are excellent restaurants within walking distance (the kind locals frequent), and you know what? Couples really seem to get this. The feedback consistently shows that people visiting as a pair rate the location incredibly highly, and I can see why — it’s romantic without being overly precious about it.
The Room Experience
The rooms at Brussels Downtown strike that perfect balance between modern comfort and Belgian character. I mean, you’re not going to get cutting-edge design here, but everything works exactly as it should. The beds are genuinely comfortable — not just hotel-marketing comfortable — and the bathrooms are well-appointed without unnecessary frills. What I particularly appreciated was the attention to soundproofing; even though you’re in a residential area, Brussels can still be noisy, and these rooms actually let you sleep properly.
Getting Around & Practical Matters
The tram connections from this part of Uccle are honestly better than you’d expect. You can reach Grand Place, the European Quarter, or even the airport without too much hassle. But here’s the thing — you might find yourself wanting to stay in the neighborhood more than you planned. There’s a Sunday market nearby that locals swear by, and the café culture in this area feels more authentic than what you’ll find in the tourist zones. The hotel staff seem to actually know the area well, which makes a difference when you need recommendations that aren’t just the obvious tourist spots.
Why Guests Love It
Recent guests have been rating the location a perfect 10.0, and after spending time here, that makes complete sense. It’s not just about convenience — though the transport links work well — it’s about experiencing Brussels the way people who live here actually do. The 7.8 overall rating reflects what you’d expect from a solid four-star property: everything works, the service is reliable, and you feel like you’re getting good value. Couples particularly seem to connect with the atmosphere here, probably because Uccle has that romantic, lived-in quality that makes you want to slow down and actually enjoy being somewhere together rather than just checking boxes on a tourist itinerary.
Best hotels in Brussels blend guild-house facades, Art Nouveau interiors, and generous Belgian breakfasts before a day among Art Nouveau landmarks.

The flat is located 30 minutes away from the city center and the only things that you can hear are the trains and buses passing by. Everything looks exactly the same as in the pictures and the only missing thing is a proper table with a chair to work at if you're travelling and also working.
Heartington from Netherlands – 2 January 2023 (8/10)
It felt like you just switched home with someone else. And because it's during New Year's celebrations.
