Brussels Center Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Brussels Center on Rue Saint-Laurent, you immediately get that “I’m in the thick of things” feeling. This three-star hotel sits right in the heart of Brussels — and I mean really in the heart, not just marketing speak. The building itself is classic Brussels architecture, nothing flashy, but it fits perfectly into the neighborhood’s character. You know what struck me most? How quiet it actually feels inside despite being surrounded by all the action.

Location Magic

Honestly, the location is what makes this place special. You’re literally steps away from Grand Place — I’m talking a two-minute walk where you can still hear the street musicians echoing off those gorgeous guild houses. The Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert are right around the corner, perfect for ducking into when it’s drizzling (which, let’s be honest, happens a lot in Brussels). What I love is that couples seem to really get it — they consistently rate the location nearly 9 out of 10, and after staying here, I totally understand why.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was compact but thoughtfully designed — no wasted space, everything you need within arm’s reach. The bed was surprisingly comfortable for a three-star property, and the bathroom, while small, had good water pressure (always a win in older European buildings). The windows open onto the street, so you get those authentic Brussels sounds — church bells, trams in the distance, the occasional late-night reveler. If you’re a light sleeper, pack earplugs, but honestly, it’s all part of the charm of staying in a real city center.

Neighborhood Vibes

What really sold me on this area is how it balances tourist attractions with actual local life. You’ve got incredible chocolate shops and waffle stands (obviously), but also small cafés where locals grab their morning coffee. The Delirium Café is practically next door if you want to dive into Belgium’s beer culture, and there’s a small grocery store around the corner for picking up essentials. I mean, you can walk to most of Brussels’ main sights, but you’re also in a neighborhood that feels lived-in, not like a tourist theme park.

Why Guests Love It

After a few days here, I get why this place consistently scores well with travelers. It’s not trying to be something it’s not — no pretentious lobby or over-the-top amenities. Instead, it delivers exactly what you want when exploring Brussels: a clean, comfortable base in an absolutely perfect location. The staff knows the neighborhood inside and out, so they’re great for restaurant recommendations that go beyond the obvious tourist spots. For the price point, you’re getting incredible value, especially considering you’re saving money on transport since everything is walkable. Sometimes the best hotels are the ones that just get out of your way and let the city be the star.

    I really liked the apartment:
    – the location is great. A lot of important sightseeings are close. Cafes, bars, shops are close.
A bit noisy place, because it's on the first floor, but for us it was OK.
    – inside everything was clean and tidy.
    – towels were clean.
    – the warmth in the apartment is regulated.
    – there was some coffee and sugar.

  • María from Spain – 19 May 2025 (9/10)

    situación

What could be improved: poca iluminación y la parte de las camas un poco incómoda, estaba muy bien, pero con alguna pequeña mejora puede mejorar mucho

  • Elle from United Kingdom – 9 May 2025 (8/10)

The location of the apartment is great, 5 minutes walk from Central Station, and 10-12 minutes walk to almost everywhere else. It's in a relatively quiet street. The emailed check-in process worked well, and finding the key and getting in was straightforward. It was very clean and tidy when I arrived. The kitchen equipment is adequate (small coffee cups only, no mugs for tea). The single bed was comfortable. The duvets are very lightweight (I used two). The shower is small but good, plenty of hot water. The TV can connect to your Netflix etc. The host responded to all messages while I was there.

What could be improved: The wifi was tricky to connect to (I had to stand by the door) and the host had to come and fix it the next day.

The window blinds were not working properly and let in a lot of street light at night. The host said he was fixing them but bring a sleep eye-mask if you are a sensitive sleeper.

Up-to-date instructions needed for wifi, microwave etc

  • Elodie from France – 27 April 2025 (9/10)

    L’emplacement

What could be improved: Manque un miroir dans le salon si nous sommes 3 copines 😀

  • Maria from Spain – 21 April 2025 (8/10)

What could be improved: El menaje y las ollas y cazuelas son escasas.
Faltaban paños de cocina. Pero nada importante

  • Anja from Belgium – 3 April 2025 (7/10)

    Snel in- en uitchecken
    Goed bed

  • 희창 from South Korea – 25 February 2025 (9/10)

What could be improved: 문을 안에서 잠그려면 키를 사용해야
    해서 불편했어요

  • Victor from Romania – 9 February 2025 (9/10)

This place was excellent value for how close to the city and business centre this location is. I only rented it for 2 nights, and maybe it is not big enough for long stay, but I have nothing to fault it for the price.

What could be improved: I've had a rough time setting up the WiFi connection at first, but the host was helpful in assisting me with that.
