B&B Marianne Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to B&B Marianne on rue Stuyvenbergh, you immediately get that cozy neighborhood feeling that makes Brussels so charming. This three-star bed and breakfast sits in Laeken, which honestly feels like discovering a local secret — you’re close enough to everything that matters but tucked away from the tourist crowds. The building itself has that classic Belgian character, and Marianne (yes, there’s actually a Marianne) greets you like you’re staying with family rather than checking into a hotel.

The Laeken Advantage

Here’s what I love about this location — you’re literally a stone’s throw from the Royal Greenhouses and Atomium, but you’ll also stumble upon authentic neighborhood cafés where locals actually hang out. The tram connections are fantastic, which means you can be in the city center in about 15 minutes, but honestly, I found myself wanting to explore Laeken itself. There’s this great little market on weekends, and the park around the royal domain is perfect for morning walks. Couples seem to really get this vibe — the area has this romantic, slightly off-the-beaten-path feel that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something special together.

Your Room Experience

The room I stayed in was exactly what you’d hope for from a well-run B&B — clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully decorated without being fussy. You know what struck me? The attention to small details, like really good reading lights and enough outlets where you actually need them. The beds are genuinely comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the windows open properly, which might sound basic but you’d be surprised how many places get this wrong. Everything feels fresh and well-maintained, and there’s this sense that someone actually cares about your stay rather than just processing guests.

Morning Rituals

Breakfast is where B&B Marianne really shines — and I mean that in the best possible way. It’s served in this lovely little dining area that feels more like someone’s home than a hotel dining room. The spread includes proper Belgian pastries (obviously), good coffee, and fresh local ingredients. Marianne often chats with guests during breakfast, sharing insider tips about the neighborhood or helping with directions. It’s the kind of personal touch that makes you remember why you chose a B&B over a chain hotel in the first place.

Why Guests Love It

That 9.6 rating isn’t just numbers — it reflects what happens when someone genuinely cares about hospitality. The combination of Laeken’s authentic Brussels character, Marianne’s personal attention, and the house’s cozy atmosphere creates something that feels both special and comfortable. You’re getting real local insight, a peaceful base for exploring the city, and that rare feeling of being welcomed rather than just accommodated. For couples especially, there’s something about the intimate scale and romantic neighborhood setting that just works. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to return to Brussels, partly because you know you have this perfect little retreat waiting for you.

The concierge service in Brussels can arrange exclusive chocolate factory tours, secure reservations at Michelin-starred restaurants, and organize personalized visits to the European Parliament and UNESCO World Heritage Grand Place.

the location 2’-walk from the metro
the super-friendly host lady who would always take the time for chats during breakfast and would be super-supportive when planning the days and doing the parking
the lovely room with a small balcony with a view of the Atomium and the cute bathroom right under the roof with lots of wood and little details
the breakfast that Marianne did so very carefully – self-made jam was delicious …

  • Edlira from Albania – 22 February 2025 (10/10)

Everything, especially the service. Fantastic breakfast, great apartment, cleanliness, WIFI, location, directions, everything. Marianne takes care very much, making sure her guests feel at home. We stayed for three nights and enjoyed a very good experience. Definitely will come back.

  • Belinda from Australia – 2 December 2024 (10/10)

Marianne’s place is exactly as pictured and she was a great host, so accommodating. The breakfast provided is delicious and she asks you when you’d like it for each day which is so generous. She was great in providing recommendations and making us feel at home and assists with letting you know what transport to get from the main station. The bathroom and bedroom were a great size for a couple and there is also a TV area available to guests which is so nice for a bit of seperate space rather than just hanging out in your room.

What could be improved: We were aware it wasn’t in the city centre but I think it might be a draw back for some people if you wanted to be closer to the main part of Brussels. It is still accessible by Metro and Tram and we believe it was worth it to be in a nice space.

  • Elrika from Netherlands – 2 December 2024 (10/10)

Marianne is an amazing hostess and made us feel like we were visiting family. Giving us advise on how to travel around and were to go beyond our planned excursions. The property is close to all public transport and restaurants as well.

  • David from United States – 25 May 2024 (10/10)

  • Cheishvili from Georgia – 20 April 2024 (10/10)

Marianne is a wonderful hostess. Stay with her was a real pleasure. The location is little bit far from the center though metro and bus station are near and you can reach any place from there.

  • Mine from Turkey – 15 April 2024 (10/10)

Marianne is an excellent hostess. She greeted us warmly, showed us our room, the room was very clean, the living room was lovely. She fixed a wonderful breakfast for me and my son. She gave us recommendations to roam around Brussels. She was a top notch super hostess!

  • Paul from United Kingdom – 23 September 2023 (9/10)

Marianne was a great host, communication before and during our stay was prompt and clear. She was very welcoming and helpful with any questions . The accommodation is spacious and private and a good location for expo and access to tram and metro.

  • Horia from Romania – 31 July 2023 (10/10)

It was exceptional. I gave it 10 stars because there isn't a possibility to give more. Madame Marianne is the most wonderful person you will ever meet. She is a truly solar person who tended to our every needs. She helped us with directions, with tips, advices and also provided us with an invoice. Her house is WOW!, the breakfast was very good, the location is very close to the Atomium and 20 minutes by metro to the city center. It is the ideal place to stay and enjoy the wonderful city of Brussels.

We had a very nice stay, Marianne is a perfect Host! She is really nice and helpful, if you have any questions. Atomium and Mini Europe are a few minutes by foot, tram and metro are nearby. We also enjoyed the breakfast! We travelled with one kid and appreciated the second bedroom.
