Art de Sejour – B&B Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Art de Sejour – B&B on rue des Bogards, you immediately sense you’ve found something special in Brussels’ historic center. This four-star bed and breakfast occupies a beautifully restored building that feels authentically Belgian — none of that sterile hotel chain vibe you get elsewhere. The entrance has this welcoming, intimate quality that makes you feel like you’re staying at a sophisticated friend’s place rather than just another tourist accommodation. The attention to detail throughout the property reflects a genuine commitment to creating an exceptional guest experience.
Prime Brussels Location
Honestly, the location here is pretty much perfect if you want to experience real Brussels. You’re literally steps from the Grand Place — I mean, you can practically hear the street musicians from your window. What I love is that you’re in the thick of things but on a quieter side street, so you get the energy without the constant tourist chaos. The Manneken Pis is a two-minute walk, and you’ve got incredible chocolate shops and traditional brasseries right around the corner. Couples especially seem to get this — they consistently rate the location nearly perfect, and I totally understand why. The neighborhood perfectly balances vibrant cultural attractions with peaceful residential charm.
The Rooms
The rooms at Art de Sejour – B&B strike this nice balance between boutique charm and modern comfort. Each one feels individually designed rather than cookie-cutter, with thoughtful touches that show someone actually cares about the guest experience. But honestly? The beds are what really impressed me — they’re genuinely comfortable in that way where you actually sleep well instead of just tolerating hotel bedding. The rooms aren’t huge (this is central Brussels, after all), but they’re cleverly laid out and feel more spacious than you’d expect. Natural light and tasteful décor create an inviting atmosphere in every space.
Breakfast Experience
Breakfast here goes way beyond the typical continental spread you find at most B&Bs. They’ve clearly put thought into accommodating different dietary needs — vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, even American-style options if you’re craving something familiar. The quality is consistently good, and it’s served in a cozy setting that encourages you to linger over coffee and plan your day. You know what I appreciate? They don’t rush you through breakfast like you’re on some assembly line. Fresh pastries, local cheeses, and quality beverages make each morning feel special.
Why Guests Love It
With a 9.9 rating, Art de Sejour – B&B clearly gets the fundamentals right — location, comfort, and genuine hospitality. It’s the kind of place where small details matter, from the quality of the linens to the local recommendations from staff who actually know Brussels. You’re paying for that prime location and personalized service, but it feels worth it when you’re wandering back from a late dinner and realize you’re home in under five minutes. For couples especially, there’s something romantic about staying in this historic part of the city while still having all the modern comforts you want. This upscale bed and breakfast represents the best of Belgian hospitality.
To book a hotel in Brussels during the Christmas market season, visitors plan ahead to balance museum mornings with dinners of mussels and frites.

What could be improved: There was nothing I didn’t like about the propertyHelen from Australia – 29 May 2025 (10/10)
The room was at least 3 times the size of a normal hotel room. Extremely spacious bathroom was well appointed. Host Mario took time to show us how to get to the main attractions. Location was super-quiet.

My husband and I stayed 3 nights at Art De Sejour and I cannot speak more highly of our stay. Brussels was our first stop on a month-long European adventure, and I doubt any of our other accommodations will come close to this experience. Firstly, the location is excellent. Not right in the noise and hustle and bustle of the city centre, but close enough that everything is accessible within a 10-15 min walk, including the central train station. Secondly, the accommodation is superb. Mario has done a tremendous job in creating the perfect place for travellers, where absolutely nothing has been overlooked. I felt just as comfortable as if I was in my own home. The shower was wonderful, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the room was immaculately clean. All of the extra touches were there – coffee machine, fridge with free drinks, quality Loccitane toiletries just to name a few. Lastly, Mario the wonderful owner made our stay even more special. He provides you with a map and advice upon arrival, and every morning fuels you for your day ahead with freshly made croissants, breads, cut fruit, yogurt, granola, choice of cooked eggs (which he personally prepares for you), deli meat, smoothie shots, coffees etc. I have written and read many reviews over the years, and people often say they would be happy to return. This is the first time I have ever thought I would never even consider looking at alternative options if I am lucky enough to visit Brussels again. I truly hope I have the opportunity to return in the future! And Mario, it goes without saying we would love to see your stunningly handsome and young face again!!!

the property met and exceeded our expectations. it was immaculately clean and nothing had been overlooked from the quality of the linen and towels to the toiletries and in room coffee facilities not to mention the complimentary soft drinks in the fridge. The breakfast was also very good and ample.

Our host Mario was outstanding. He made fantastic breakfasts, helped us with recommendations for places to visit,
and provided extra attention and assistance for my wife who was ill when we arrived. Mario maintains an impeccably
clean facility. He is the best B&B owner we have ever had the pleasure of meeting.
